(Authors note: Listen to the song "Twin sized mattress" by The Front Bottoms when Eli starts talking to Isa, trust me, it'll get you in the feels.)

Much like last time I stalked Izzy, she didn't get home until late at night, something my sleep schedule would punish me for later. After leaving abruptly at school it took Owen holding me down and Jace promising they would come spend the night to make sure I didn't do anything stupid.
So, for that reason and that reason only, Owen and Jace are having a war in Mario-Kart while I watched Izzy have a conversation with Markos on her front porch. I was getting more irritated every time she leaned on his shoulder or he squeezed her shoulder, get a room.
On second thought, don't do that. Please.
"You ever gonna tell us what happened that has you so on edge?" Owen raised his voice over the gaming soundtrack.
Throughout the entire day my leg had been bouncing uncontrollably under my desk and if it wasn't that, something else on my body was fidgeting to the point of my lab partner throwing my pencil across the room in annoyance.
She's a real joy.
"Something happened last night, with Izzy." I said vaguely. At the mention of her Jace paused the game and threw his controller on the freshly shampooed carpet, forcing him and Owen to turn my way.
"Please tell me you didn't shag her," Owen said. Jace elbowed him for me even though he was laughing too.
"There's no way you could score her, she's like, twenty levels above your league," They fistbumped as I pouted. They were right, but come on, is that really the right thing to say right now?
HELLO, I'M HAVING A CRISIS!
"We kissed last night," They both stopped joking and stared through me as I shouted over the noise. "Well, more like we made out really heavily andthenshekickedmeoutofherroombecauseMarkoswalkedinonus." I rushed through my words like fucking lightning and stared at their stunned faces.
"She kicked you out?" Owen asked
"Markos walked in on you?" Jace said at the same time. Then, as if looking at eachother was the perfect indication to start laughing, they both bursted out and rolled around on the floor, cackling about my life.
I mean, it was like there was a sign lit up that said 'Lookie here, Elijah can't get the hot girl to makeout with him normally, you should laugh!'
Come on.
"Guys, seriously what do I do?" It took them a good five minutes to calm down and answer my question.
"I don't get why you haven't said anything to her about it." Jace nods along to what Owen says and I fight the urge to tell him that I did say something. It probably wasn't the right thing, but telling her I wasn't giving up was clear enough that I wanted her, right?
"I don't know what she's feeling, like, did she kick me out because she was embarassed or because it shouldn't have happened? Did she even like me like that?" I thought out loud to them."She's special man," Jace said and stared right into my eyes. With the amount of girls that ogle him, I'm surprised he hasn't bagged any of his own, it's still weird to get girl advice from him.
"Yeah, and she's been through a lot, maybe she isn't looking for anything serious right now," Owen suggested. He didn't know the half of what she's been through, I'm not sure I even knew everything, even with last nights revelations.
