My first regret of the night came with the length of my dress. Really, it shouldn't have even been called a dress, the red material barely covered my ass and the bodice wasn't doing much to keep the girls in place, if you know what I mean.

"Ruby!" I shouted from the restroom. My hair was up in a high ponytail, curly tendrils hanging out while my eyes were smokey and dark, a light layer of foundation resting under everything.

"Que?" She yelled back. She sneaked the garment bag in when I was still showering, and until now I had been in a towel with a mess of soppin hair.

"Get your dumbass in here!" It was well past eight now, but the party would be raging until the early morning hours anyways.

"What do you need now?" She peeked her head through the cracked open door and took in my appearance.

"There's no way I'm wearing this." I stated and pulled her into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind her.

"Um, of course you're wearing this, we match." While she was right, her matching black dress was longer because of her tiny frame.

"Yeah but I'm the one that looks like a slut," I motioned down my body with both of my hands. "Can't this thing be any longer?" I pulled down the hem of my dress in an attempt to cover more of my thighs.

"I don't think Eli's gonna mind, chica." She winked at me through the mirror and started applying a coat of lip gloss.

"You guys have no idea what you're talking about." I stated and unplugged the hair dryer, cleaning up the rest of the makeup on the counter.

"I think you're the one that doesn't know what you're talking about." She handed back the gloss and gave me the stank eye.

"I'm not starting this again," She chuckled as I opened the door and stepped back into my room. Luis and the trio were talking amongst themselves while Mari and Jay arm wrestled and Markos scrolled through his phone.

"Shoes off my bed, nasty." I pushed Markos' feet off so I could sit and put on my heels. Black pumps were a girls best friend, I don't care what the song says.

"Nope." I looked behind me to see Jay glaring at my dress choice. "Go change." He crossed his arms over his chest and huffed a deep breath.

"Blame Ruby, not me." I shrugged and nodded over to where she was taking a picture of herself in the full sized mirror.

"Shut up, Jay, she looks fine as hell." Markos winked at me and put a hand on my thigh. If Jay could get any redder he would probably be considered an actual tomato.

"Yeah Jay, I look fine as hell." I emphasized his words and gave Jay a flirty smile. I could feel a certain pair of eyes boring into my back, but there was no way I was turning around voluntarily to gage his reaction.

I looked desperate, almost like Ava. I guess that would be a good thing if I wanted Eli to notice me.

"Come on, I need to get drunk, like, immediately." Ruby pulled me out of my own room and left everyone else to follow us downstairs.

I could feel Eli behind me before anyone else, it was easy to tell who it was, no one else made my skin prick like he did.

"Although Markos was right, I think you look way more than just fine, I think you look beautiful and no one else over there is gonna compare to this." His husky voice whispered into my ear.

Is this what it feels like to die? Am I in heaven?

"Gracias," I mumbled out instead of speaking english like I normally would. Ruby gave me a look as we headed back into Markos' truck.
