Josh and I drove. Jesse knew where we were going, it was his idea to send Josh and I here. This place was scary, it was a camper it the yard of yet, somebody the boys knew. Again I was scared. I wondered how Jesse was but was told not to call him. I learned not to unpack my things. We always just left again. The first night approached and I was sitting across the table from Josh. I picked at my food not wanting to eat.
"C'mon Carly you have to eat." I just nodded my head. I didn't eat though, I couldn't. I laid down on the couch and waited. I didn't know what for but I did. I eventually fell asleep. I didn't sleep very good because I woke up around 3 in the morning, screaming and crying, I had had a dream that Jesse had died.
"Carly calm down, it's only a dream!" I sat up as Josh was shaking and me. I nodded and wiped the tears from my face. I tried to go back to sleep but it was not happening. I got up and wandered around the kitchen, I opened the refrigerator looking but I wasn't hungry. The Josh came out.
"What are you doing?" He asked in a hushed voice.
"I couldn't go back to sleep."
"Here i'll make hot chocolate." I sat down at the table and Josh went to the fridge.
"Do you remember the night you Jesse met?" He asked sitting down and handing me a glass of hot choclate.
"Haha I'll never forget it." I smiled thinking about it.
"God you should have seen Jesse. He didn't shut up!" I giggled.
"After we we went back to get some stuff he asked me, 'whose that girl sitting with your girlfriend? Are they friends? How old is she?' Finally in the middle of all the questions I just blurted out JESSE I DONT KNOW! I laughed at him. He kept quiet after that."
I laughed at him again. I sat there and waited for Josh to say more. I looked at him then out the window. I thought back to the night Jesse and I first met. I wished he was here.
"Haha he was pretty chicken to ask you to dance, he wanted to really bad but he was scared." I smiled.
"He walked up to me and put his hand out. I didn't even know he was there. Then he asked if I wanted too." Josh laughed. Talking about this made me miss him but I knew that we were doing the right thing. Jesse was doing this to protect me.
"Haha he told me he was gonna take you somewhere but I didn't really know where." Josh laughed. "We'd better get some sleep." I nodded and drank the last sips of my hot chocolate. I went and laid down on the couch. Josh came back.
"Carly, do you uh, wanna come sleep in the big bed with me? I mean just so it's more comfortable." Josh wasn't that kinda guy. He wouldn't hurt me or anything so I got up and followed him. I laid down and got comfortable.
"Goodnight Carly." He fell asleep. I laid there for a while but it just wasn't happening. I started to think about the fact that I was laying in bed with Jesse's best friend. It felt weird. I had finally gotten tired and was on the edge between thinking and dreaming.
"Thud! Crash!" The loud noise rang through the house. My eyes snapped open and I sat up.
"Carly are you okay?" Josh asked.
"Didn't you hear that?
"Hear what?" He was confused and still sleepy. I got out of bed and went to see what was going on. I walked into the kitchen and my jaw hit the floor. What I saw shocked me.
"Let me go check it out stay here!" Josh ran outside.
I didn't really know what to do but I stood there for what felt like ten minutes, but was probably actually like two. Josh came flying through the door.
"Go get in the truck we got to go! He's here!" I flew out the door and jumped in the front seat and locked the door. I saw nothing but dark out my window. Again Josh came around the edge of the house and jumped in the driver seat. He started it up and we took off. In the middle of the screaming and terror, and trying to back out of the driveway. Tay's dad was standing behind our truck. Josh kept driving.
"DID YOU HIT HIM!?" I screamed!
"No!" He yelled back. I clutched the seat belt.
"Where are we going?" I asked after everything had kinda calmed down.
"To finish him."
