The truck is still stuck. The boys tried as hard as they could to get it out. It wasn't gonna budge. We had to take the four and half mile walk back to the other trucks. We started walking. We walked and the boys talked. I walked next to Jesse. He still had his shirt off. He looked really good. He had mud all over. We were all walking and Jesse was talking to the guys about trucks and football and the 'derby cars'. Jesse looked at me then took me by the hand. It was amazing. I was so happy and proud that he had done it in front all of his friends! The other guys looked at him and I was getting the hint that they were jealous. It made me feel good and wanted inside.
Jesse's POV
We had been walking now for half an hour. Carly and were walking hand in hand. I was happy. I kept looking at her. She looked cute, she had been rolled around in the mud, stuck on the tailgate of truck, and holding my hand! What more could I ask for! She had slowed down a bit, and was looking tired. I could tell by the way she moved that she was having a hard time maneuvering through the mud. I think it was because we had been walking a long time. "You look you need a lift!" I scooped her up and gave her a piggy back ride! She screamed at first and then she laughed and giggled. Even some of the guys were laughing. I carried her for a while until we came to the trucks. As I put her down she whispered "thank you" in my ear. I pulled tailgate down on one of the trucks. Everybody sat on the trucks and rested. After a while we had to go back and get the truck unstuck. "Alright boys we better go get that truck." We all jumped in Dylan's truck and took off. We got the truck unstuck and we were headed home. I took all the back roads and the longest way to her house. She was looking really good. "Hey Jesse?" she said scooting over closer to me. "yea?" I said taking one hand off the wheel and putting it around her. "Thank you she said as she rested her head on my shoulder. I didn't say anything back I just let her sit there. We pulled up at her house and I figured I'd better explain to her parents. "Hello Mrs. Walters." "Hey mom this is Jesse!" Carly explained. "Why hello! Carly tells me about you all the time!" I kinda chuckled at that. I liked her mom she seemed great and okay with everything. "I thought I should explain why I brought her home like this... I took her out with some friends and the truck got stuck." I said I felt uneasy next time she could come back to my house and shower then I would bring her home. "Oh dear don't worry about it!" I left her house after saying my goodbyes. As I drove home I thought, damn Carly's better then I thought. I thought about all that we had been through. I was really happy. I wanted her to be mine. I needed to take her out on a real date, I also wanted to find some cute way of asking her to be mine girl!
A few days later Taylor was released from the hospital and was doing fine. We still didn't know if Josh was gonna leave with her of not. The police were trying to work it out. Taylor's dad had been in and out of jail. There was a court date set and all was gonna end well.
