" Miss Parker " My English teacher yelled startling me back to reality.
"Yes Miss, sorry was just deep in thought about what you were saying" I lied but she seemed to buy it and paid attention to a kid behind me that rose his hand.
"Yes Andrew"
"Why do we need English, I mean I'm tired of this class. I understand that we need to know how to read and write but what's with the extra books" he ranted.
I know the pain man, English is hard
"I swear...if we're suffering this then I wonder what literature guys are suffering. They offer both literature and English" Fay added.
"The same way we offer maths and further maths" Henry chipped in making me snicker.
Literature is basically further English
Its Tuesday and school is almost over with Miss Ngozi giving us a hard time. I mean who gives an essay during test period.
"Its very important to read books, you'll gain more knowledge, I personally love reading and y'all should too...I'll never forget the first novel I fell in love with" she said dreamily and I could feel her already going off track and I turned towards Andrew.
"Thank you" I mouthed and he smiled back. Now time to relax and listen to story time.
"I was 19 years old when my mother gave me this book. I didn't really fancy reading back then but I gave it a shot and let's just say... I actually felt something" she started.
"What's the name of the book" he encouraged the gist.
"The Great Gabsy" she sighed.
"You mean that boring ass book I see around library" Caleb interrupted and I kicked his ankle causing him to wince.
"Its actually not that boring... I watched the movie. It was really nice" Fay added
"Yes favour but the book is more detailed and expressed. It was then that I started believing in.."
"Bullshit" Caleb snickered lowly but guys within the nearby radius started laughing.
"I can see you're finding my life story funny, aiit change of plans...new assignment" she announced making us all groan and dissing Caleb.
"I want you all to find time and read the book. Make a 700word essay on it and it should be submitted anytime before closure on Sunday. Your score would be that of your first week of resumption" she informed.
Neat actually, that means no stress for the first week
