I Dare You by The xx

Short review:

The xx is a band I discovered by accident. I watched the music video at the start of 2018 and I didn't take much notice of the song at first, as I was too busy watching the video. The video follows a younger version of a member of the band, played by Millie Bobby Brown, as she goes out for the day with her older sister and her friends after missing her school bus. Then, as she watches the couples dancing, she begins coming to the realization that she might like girls rather than boys, and she breaks down and runs back to the car. As this part plays, Romy Croft sings the line, "I can hear it now like I heard it then" over and over. Like the younger version of her, I was also coming to terms with the fact that I was also into girls, and I came out 3 months after watching this video. A month ago, I revisited this song and video, and it brought me right back, and now the line, "I can hear it now like I heard it then" really resonates with me and even brings a tear to my eye. I've since become a bigger fan of the band, and I'm exploring their music. Maybe more of their songs will be brought up in this book. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the song and I'm going to leave the music video here if you want to check it out.
