Peeta's POV: (December 12th)

Today's the day when the surgery takes place and Katniss will see again after five years. The surgery was costly. But its well worth it. Katniss was been jumping around since we had breakfast.

Later she looks nervous.

"Hey. You okay?", I ask her.

"Yeah. Its just that I have this feeling in my stomach that something is wrong. Not that something will go wrong during the surgery. But that something is wrong right now.", she says hugging her knees to her chest.

"I'm sure everything is fine", I tell her.

I read to her for a bit. Like I've been doing for a few weeks. After all a soul without literature is a lonely one.  Right now were about to finish "Divergent" by Veronica Roth. At the end of the book I feel Katniss crawl up next to me and snuggle into my side. I continue reading as Tris and Tobias say "I love you". Katniss smiles and laughs a bit, at the beautiful moment in the book.

She then surprises me and kisses my cheek.

"Thank you Peeta.", she says wit her lips still pressed on my cheek.

"Your welcome ", I hug her and silently say "I love you"

Soon comes the time when we're at the hospital with Haymich, Finnick, and Clove. Katniss trembled on the cold chair.

"Are you okay, sweetheart?",Haymich asks her.

"I'm just nervously excited.", she says to him.

We wait for the doctor. Soon Katniss is rubbing her arms, cold.

"Come here", I pull her on to my lap and hug her to keep warm.

"Thank you.", she embraced my arms that were around her.

"Family of Katniss Everdeen", a doctor says.

Haymich runs to him and began talking to him. We get up to hear what they were saying.

"I'm sorry to say that her surgery cannot take place until January. There aren't enough surgeons working right now because of the holidays.", he says.

"No. No. I can't go through another month like this. ", Katniss cried and leaned into me for support.

"I'm so sorry miss.", he apologized again.

"Reschedule your surgery for somewhere between January 10 - January 20.", he walked away.

"Come one Katniss. Lets go... um... get some cookies from Auntie Sae's", I comforted her.

I looked at the guys to see if they wanted to come. But they shook their heads no. Uncle Haymich pointed at the reception desk. He's probably going to sue the hospital.

Katniss and I walked to my aunt's house

She raised me after my mum left me on her street. She's my only real mom figure.

As we walk,  Katniss takes my hand, tightly. We arrive to my house. Where I live with Auntie Sae. It smells heavily of cookies and chocolate. When Auntie Sae sees us she comes and embraces us. She takes Katniss' hands and guides her to the table where a plate of cookies are fresh out of the oven and cooling down.
