"Reincarnation?"

"If I'm always cold and laying in the sun does that mean I'd been a lizard in my past life?"

"Absolutely not."

"Clarke you know just as much as I what a True Commander means to the Grounders." When she continues to stare at me wide-eyed I scoff "Hell six years ago you tried to force the Flame into Luna. You were willing to put it into your own head to prevent a war over this bunker. How is this any different?"

"Madi's a child. That's how", Clarke disdainfully reminds me. When Bellamy and I share a glance, Clarke desperately rambles "I don't care how many of these people still believe in the Flame. They believe in Bloodreina more."

"Madi will be protected", Bellamy tries to assure Clarke, his hands assertively resting on his hips "Gaia, Ave and I-"

"What happens when Octavia wakes up?"

"If she wakes up we'll be in the valley", Bellamy shoots back at Clarke "She'll see what peace is like with her own eyes and she'll understand. I know it."

Despite how confident Bellamy and I come across to her I can see the same horrified look in Clarke's eyes. She doesn't want us to do this. She's desperate. A mothers love for her child. What Clarke doesn't understand is how this is Madi's birth rite. Her blood makes her a descendant of Becca who had been their first Commander and created this flop of a religion for them. Disregarding my personal feelings about that aspect of their culture Madi is the only person who can lead us to peace now. The quicker she ascends before Octavia wakes the better it'll be for all involved. Bellamy and I in particular.

Assertively, Clarke tells us absolutely unwavering "The answer is no. Now, unchain me so we can get the hell out of here before we all get executed for treason."

Biting my lip I take a step forward to yell at her for being selfish only for Bellamy's hand to wrap around my wrist. Sparing him a hard look Bellamy only replies with a stern shake of his head. Understanding I back off and let him speak to Clarke. His fingers falling from my wrist, Bellamy approaches Clarke more softly "Clarke... Raven, Echo, Murphy, Emori... are my family." Shaking his head, Bellamy regretfully informs her "I'm sorry but this is happening."
