"I'm sorry Clarke's built this 'higher than thou' image of me to you but I've tried thinking our way through that gorge all night and I have nothing. Why do you think I cornered Roan's Azgeda army in there six years ago?"
Bellamy went to check on the artillery stocks with Indra not long after she left. Since everything seems to be coming together I make my move over to where Octavia, Cooper, and Miller stand before the medical tent. I also see the Echo had just reached them and I find myself internally groaning. As I approach I catch the end of a conversation, Echo telling them without a doubt in her mind "McCreary has Raven and Shaw. One of them will break and fly that ship."
"You said Clarke was handling that?" Octavia sternly clarifies with Echo.
"She is", Echo coolly replies "But I'd rather not let missiles tell us she's failed."
"Something we can agree on", I interject joining their loop. Stood between Octavia and Miller, Echo and I merely give each other acknowledging nods. We can't avoid each other so we do as Bellamy said and exercise some tolerance. He was right when he said there's no room for in house fighting. If there is it creates a weak link and an opportunity for McCreary's men. I'd rather not let them have more of an advantage then what they already do.
"What's left of the first battalion is ready" Miller informs us with a curt nod.
All too eagerly, Brell adds "The Commanders army is too."
"We're all the Commander's army now" Indra speaks up from behind us. With Bellamy the pair appear between Octavia and me to join our circle of leaders.
"So where's the Commander?" Echo thinks aloud. I know she's spent every waking hour since getting here preparing every single warrior who can fight.
When nobody jumps up I sigh cutting through the group to stalk over to the medical tent "I think she needs a pep talk." Hearing Indra and Bellamy shuffle to follow me, I push aside the curtains of the tent to gaze around the wounded. There's crying and groaning coming from every direction. Blood soaks the wound wraps and there's hardly a space free in here. Some of these people are lucky. Exceptionally lucky.
