Chapter 1

Ashton POV.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Crash

I groan knowing I have to get up and get ready for school. Once I got up I stretched finally acknowledging my full bladder. I went and did my morning routine. I rummaged through my closet and grabbed a white t-shirt some black skinny jeans and black vans a hoodie and a beanie. Once I finished getting dressed I went downstairs and started making breakfast for my dad and me, which consisted of waffles, sausages, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns. once I turned around to get some milk I saw my dad walking into the kitchen.

" Hey Dad," I said

"Hey son" he answered

"How was your night?" he asked

"it was good besides waking up in the morning" I grumbled

he laughed knowing that I wasn't a morning person. I smiled finally seeing my dad show a smile his face. it was hard for him when my mother died of cancer.

He would cry himself to sleep thinking I wouldn't know. I knew he was acting strong for me and telling me that everything was fine but

deep down inside I knew he had a broken heart. my mother was a beautiful woman, she had chocolate brown hair, hazel green eyes and

a beautiful smile that would make anyone happy. I really miss her. I really hope he can find love again.

I looked at the time and saw that it was 7:30 am

"gotta go, dad!! see you later" I said

I ran upstairs grabbed my bag, my keys, my phone, and charger then left.

it was early but I don't have a car yet so I had to walk, but, it's only a 10-minute walk and I despise taking the bus to school the kids always tease me because of my height.

yes, I'm short at 5'6 but it's average-sized. not my fault that everyone around me is 6'3 or taller. while I was on my way to school I felt a shiver run down my spine

telling me that this week was going to be different, I shrugged it off thinking that its probably a cold coming up. once I arrived at school, I was greeted by my

best friends Jess and Max. As you already know I'm not of the popular group, I prefer to stay alone and hang out with a smaller group of friends.

Once jess saw me she squealed and ran towards me with max following behind. I roll my eyes playfully and smiled really wondering why she does this. but, nevertheless, I love her.

" Hey Jess," I said once she pounced on me.

"omg I missed you so much I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!!!" she said

" but you saw me yesterday" I answered

"yesterday was too long" she exasperated

"Hey max," I said once we did our manly handshake

we started walking towards the school building. when we entered the building, I noticed that everyone was staring at me. I felt really uncomfortable.

I asked my friends

"Do I have something on my face?"

"No" they both answered in unison

"Then why do they all keep staring at me?" suddenly getting frightened

"I don't know, let's go," Max said

we walked to my locker

"This is getting really awkward"
