Chapter 14

Alex POV

I woke up with a groan. The morning patrols and the afternoon training were killing me. Today, the alpha told us not to go to school. He told us that today we are going to prepare for anything that comes our way. We checked the woods, the safe house where all the pups and lower ranked wolves are going to stay. we need to have everything ready and prepared for when the enemy did come.

All the pack members who were to take afternoon training were all waiting outside, including me, matt, Sammy, and Levi. We patiently waited for the alpha to arrive aka my father. So, imagine my surprise when my mate called, I was ecstatic. But it wasn't the call I was hoping for.

"hey, Ashton" he didn't answer

Hey, Ashton everything okay?" I asked again.

"No, can you come to pick me up from school?" he whispered

I'll pick you up in 5" I quickly answered back.

I hung up and quickly turned around "hey matt, Sammy, Levi, something is wrong with my mate, he just called me, and something is not right. So, if my dad asks where I am please don't hesitate to tell him the truth. He already knows"

"go, your mate needs you, we will tell him where you are" I nodded and whispered a thank you before running full speed to my car. I broke almost every law to get to school. But I don't have to worry, my dad, is technically the mayor of this town. Once I arrived, I tried to track down his scent but there were so many students here that it was difficult. I quickly dialed Ashton's number to which he answered:

"Hey Ashton, I'm here, where are you?"

"Behind the school" he finally whispered. I jogged to the back of the school when I saw Ashton. He was leaning next to the wall, raggedly breathing. I gasped tears prickling my eyes. I ran towards him. My wolf was already breaking to the surface. Worry, panic, anger, rising through my body.

"Ashton! Ashton! What happened?!" he looked up at me with half-lidded eyes

"They found out I-I-I'm..." he was on the verge of passing out.

I called my father. "Hello, son, everything alright?"

"no, something is wrong with my mate. He called me earlier and asked me to pick him up, but when I found him, he is all bloodied and bruised. I don't know what to do!" I panicked

"Son Calm down and bring him over, so the pack doctor can check him. and when you arrive, we will talk about the situation."

"ok," I said and hung up. I looked down to my mate, he was staring at me with half-lidded eyes. Anger was seeping through my veins.

I will kill the person who did this to my mate, they do not deserve to live oden growled

I couldn't agree more

I picked up my mate bridal style while earning a pained cry, which caused him to curl in himself. Me and my wolf whimpered in pain at seeing my mate in this state. I pulled him closer to my chest and walked to my car. I pulled the seat back to put him in a more comfortable state. He whimpered in pain but quickly settled down. I ran to my side, jumped in, and quickly zoomed out of the school and towards the packhouse. I looked over and saw that he was sleeping but breathing raggedly mostly in pain.

I hastily parked the car in front of the packhouse. I jumped out, ran to the passengers' side and grabbed my mate.

Sammy, matt, and Levi. My mate has been hurt. I'm going to the pack clinic meet me there.
