"On the day you're born, it is thought that you are born into a beautiful life with adoring parents who will love you for the rest of your life. On October 10th 1997 I was born into that family. My mother saw herself in me and my father was overwhelmed with love at my very first moments of life.
Until I was 6 my life seemed perfect. I was daddy's little girl...or so I thought." I read the words I wrote last year into a mic for my autobiography until they tell me to cut.

"That was great Delilah." Julie exclaims and comes into the booth. "You're doing great." She assures me and I nod. "That's it for today, we'll see you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay, great." I nod again and gather my stuff. They let me off earlier than I thought they would. I have a hair appointment today, I'm officially going back to brown. My hair has grown out since I dyed it so not only am I going to go back to brown I'm also going to get extensions.

I arrive at my salon and go inside. Instantly the receptionist gets excited when she sees me.

"Mrs. Urie! I'm so excited to meet you! You're my favorite author!" She exclaims, standing up. "Can I get a picture?" She pleads and I smile and nod.

"Hailey, come on!" My hair stylist, Kate sighs coming from the back. "Sorry Delilah, she's new."

"No it's fine." I tell her, posing for the picture. "And call me Delilah." I offer and she smiles.

"Okay Delilah...I'm Hailey."

"So I realize." I joke and she laughs.

"Delilah, it's so good to see you. It's been like 3 months! How are you?" She asks as I follow her to usual area.

"Good, great. I'be finished my book finally and now I'm working on the audio book." I explain and she nods.

"I saw the actress that played Violet-umm. Oh what's her name?" She asks as I take a seat in front of the mirror.

"Taissa?" I laugh and her eyes light up and she smiles.

"Yes! She won an award for best actress in that movie right?"

"Yep." I nod.

"That's exciting." She starts brushing my hair and I nod again.

After 4 hours we finally finish and my hair is back to brown and much longer and I look so good.

"Thank you Kate!" I exclaim, playing with my long locks. "It looks great."

"You're so welcome girl." She smiles. I go back to Hailey and pay, making sure to leave a generous tip and then I head home.

When I get home, I notice that Brendon's car isn't there but my moms is. I wonder where Brendon went?

"Hey mom." I greet her as I come in the house. She has Asher on her hip watching some cartoon that I'm sure Grayson picked out.

"Hey honey. Brendon told me to tell you he went to figure something out. He said he'd be back around 5." She explains and I nod curiously.

"Mommy!" Grayson stands from the floor and runs to me.

"Hi hun." I crouch down and hug him.

"Mom, you're hair!" Violet exclaims as she comes downstairs. "It looks so good." She beams.

"Thanks babe." I smile at her.

"How was the first day of recording?" My mom asks and I draw my attention to her.

"Good, kind of tiring. Can't believe I have a whole month of it." I admit.

"It's going to sound so good though." She compliments me.
I almost thank her but am interrupted by the door opening. I turn my attention to Brendon coming in, looking very happy with himself.

"Guess what!" He sings as he comes in, picking me up and twirling me around. I laugh as he sets me down but I'm still confused.

"What?" I ask.

"Veronica can you give us a minute?" Brendon looks behind me at my mom. He waits for her to leave and then his smiles gets even bigger.

"Brendon, what is going on?" I ask with a laugh.

"Do you remember a couple weeks ago at my birthday party. I drunkenly told you I wanted to be more than a husband and father?" He asks.

"I remember us pretending like it never happen." I smirk.

"Well, I couldn't. For the past couple weeks I quietly tried to think about what I wanted to do for the next decade or so. And then, like a sign from the universe. I got a message from an old colleague." He goes on. "Well, to make a long story short-I got a job."
My smile fades and I try to figure out if this joke. He never mentioned to me that he was looking for a job.

"What?" I search his eyes for humor and I find none.

"No, D..." he pauses. "I loved teaching but I also love working with music...so-" He pauses. "I'm going to be a middle school choir teacher! And that's not it, I'll also be teaching band."

"What?" I ask but I heard him.

"Yeah, I start this fall. Aren't you exited?" He asks.

"Of course. It's just so out of left field." I tell him.

"I know, I didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure. But this way I feel like I am somebody. You know, teaching kids music."

"Brendon, that's amazing. I'm so happy for you." I tell him truthfully. I place a kiss on his cheek and hug him.

We decide to tell the kids at dinner about Brendon's new job. Even though I'm not very hungry, I still decide to cook dinner for everyone else.
I pull out some egg salad and the smell instantly makes me gag, knowing it's expired I throw it in the trash as Brendon comes in the kitchen.

"What are you doing? I just bought that today." He says walking over to the trash and pulling the container out.

"It stinks. Smell it." I tell him and he smells it.

"It smells fine to me, not that we can eat it now." He scoffs and throws it back in the trash. He's crazy, it stinks.

At dinner we explain to the kids that starting in the fall, not only will Asher be starting school, so will Brendon. We explain to Violet that when she goes to middle school the following year, he will be her teacher and that made her anxious.
By the end of dinner, I find my plate a quarter eaten. I guess I'm just not that hungry.
I finish the night by cleaning the kitchen with Brendon and then putting the kids to bed.
