The Road Is Long

The road is long.

Proud mountains towering
in the distance.
Ancient mists rising
between the peaks.

The cold is creeping into my bones.

I'll have to keep moving,
or I'll freeze, struck by fear,
or lose my way in the grey mountains.

Night draws near,
time to rest for the day
and I sigh.

The road is long.
