A Dying Soul

Deep down in my darkness,
I barely breathe,
I barely move
because I know...

I know the way my soul looks,
dried up to the bones,
a mere shadow
of what it once was,
a decomposed corpse,
a bare skeleton
preparing to die.

If there was just one glimpse of light,
a small glow,
a tiny spark of beauty,
could it be revived?
Would I be alive inside again?

Can I dare hope for such a thing?
