As Autumn Passes

Green grass has turned to gold,
the trees are turning bare
as mists wander the mountain-tops.

Grey waves carry foreign tales
onto the rough and rocky shores
as rain slowly drizzles down.

Warmed by the flame of burning peat,
in my lonesome cottage I sit
as autumn slowly passes.
