Amanda

Ok, so I know I might have rushed in and kind of forgot to introduce myself, but don't worry because your girl has got your backs.

'Did you really have to be dramatic?' My inner voice says.

'I'm just telling the truth, I do have their backs.'

Where was I? Right, I was introducing myself.

So, you probably know this already but my name is Amanda. Amanda Underwood. I'm 16 years old, I live with my father, mother and an annoying younger brother. I'm in 10th grade in Weinstein High School. I'm not a morning person as you know, I hate school because it just won't end, and from that, I bet you guys think I'm this popular girl with a lot of friends...well you are right on one thing but not the other. I do have a lot of friends if you do consider a group of 5 people a lot but to me, they are because not a lot of people can stick by your side for long.

Moving on though, as I was saying I'm not popular but not according to my friends because apparently since I-

"Hey, Amanda," Says someone I don't know.

"Hi," I say with a smile.

Another thing about me I'm very shy guys. Very.

As I was saying apparen-

"Hey, Amanda." Again, someone, I don't know.

"Hi." Again.

Okay, maybe the majority of people knew my name and paid attention to what I did on some level but I have never gossiped or started problems.

I'm not dating haven't been for very long and I'd like it to stay that way. I just find no interest in guys or relationships at all, and no, I'm not a lesbian.

And that ladies and gentlemen were my introductions and the end of the trip.

Entering the long corridors I was met with one of my friends, Judith, at my locker.

"Hey, I missed you today at the bus."

"Yeah, I kind of overslept so I missed the bus and had my mom take me to school."

"You seriously need to stop hitting that snooze button," I say.

"Says someone who constantly hits it."

"Whatever," I say rolling my eyes. "Where's the rest of the group?"

"Well if you speak of the devil he shall appear."

That's when I heard it. Or should I say him.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BIG MIKE HAS ARRIVED." He said dramatically.

Oh gosh. I can feel the eyes already.

Approaching us I decide to burst his bubble.

"Uh, no, that sounds so wrong. Big Mike? Small Mike sounds better."

"Oh, no, she didn't! Hold me back guys because she is about to get it!"

And that is my friend Mike, his gay, and along with him is my other friends Mea, Lucy, Natalie.

"Well, unfortunately, we don't have that time. We have a paper to write so unfortunately, you have to suck it big Mike." Lucy says.

Laughing, she says, "You guys get it? Suck. Big Mike." She says, laughing again.

And that is Lucy for you guys.

Exiting the doors of the examination room I headed straight for the school's gates.

'You just can't wait to get out of here already aren't you?'

'Of course, I am, who wouldn't want to get out of this hell whole?'

One thing that I like about being in 10th grade is that once you finish writing your exam you could leave. I thank who ever came up with that were definitely looking out for me.

Exiting the school I was met with Judith waiting for me.

"Hey, what took so long?" She says.

"I made a stop to the bathroom. The others left?"

"Yeah, and it's now time for us to go as well."

Walking to one of the taxi stops we were fortunate enough to find a taxi already there waiting.

Judith entering first she went straight to the back.

"Hey, Austin," Judith says to one of the guys at back.

And you guys would think she would sit somewhere that there are two spots but nope she went straight to a corner with someone next to her and then it's open seat and this so-called Austin.

Ookay

Taking both my phone and earphones I plugged them in and was about to plug the earphones when he started talking.

"Hey, I'm Austin."

"Hi, I'm Amanda." I say, not even looking at him.

"That look on your face is one I know very well. I could even spot it from far." He says starting a conversation.

He's a bit bold. No one really starts a conversation that way. It's different. I like it.

"Oh really? And what look would that be?" I say with a smile on my face.

"A look of tiresome and the 'what the hell is this guy doing talking to me' kind of look."

Oh, he got you there.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"It's okay because I'm about to rock your world." Laughing, we start conversing till the end of our destination.
