Listen to Friends by Marshmello & Anne Marie when reading this chapter.

Amanda

10 minutes later and we arrive at school.

"Thanks for the ride."

"Anytime. I'll see you at school?"

"Yep," I say, popping the p.

Opening the door he stops me, "You forgetting something."

"Yeah? What?"

"This," he says before closing the distance between us and pecks my lips.

"That." I say, taking a deep breathe I exit the car.

Not from a faraway distance, I spot my friends.

Quickening my pace I close the distance us, "Hey guys."

"Hey, the bus is early today. Where's Judith? There's something I want to tell her."

"Uhm, I didn't arrive with her?"

"Last time I checked you guys do take the same bus right?"

"Yesss?"

"Girl, it is too early in the morning for you to be acting dumb. Now, what did you arrive with? I don't see a bus around." He says looking over my head.

"I arrived in a car of course," I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Obviously.  We not that dumb in the morning, unlike others this morning."

"Well, I-"

"Amanda, meet me in the parking lot after school." He says waving his car keys around.

"Ooooooooo, somebody got a lift, somebody got a lift and soon we'll be holding babies."

What!?

I cough uncomfortable, "First off, never sing; never ever say words that involve a baby or babies. Secondly, we're just friends." How many times do I have to tell them? For some reason, they choose to hear what they want and nothing more.

"Yeah, friends that kiss."

"You know what, I'm leaving. I'll see you guys in class." I say speed walking into school and far away from their foul mouths.

Stopping at my locker I unload books for the first 4 classes.

"Hey."

"Oh, hey Max," I say with a smile.

"So I saw you guys arrive together."

"Yeah," I say in a short response.

Max is my friend and I know when he is fishing for something and he definitely is fishing right now.

"So you guys are officially dating now?"

"I'd tell you if we were but we just friends and he's just a friend who offered to drive me to school today nothing more."

"That's good because he is not a good guy."

Sighing, "What do you mean about that?"

"Don't worry about the details just know that he isn't a good guy."

"You cannot start something and not finish it, Max. It's like putting sunscreen on your face and not the rest of the body."

"I don't want to stress you out with the details."
