Amanda

One Year Later.

"Uh," I sighed stepping off the bus.

Stretching my limbs I deeply breathe in the fresh air. Not.

All schools have this contaminated air around it and it's something I can't get used to.

"Get use to it and stop frowning. You look like a pig." Betty said.

Why don't you mind your own business!

Betty knew about my school hate, and she doesn't like it at all.

She's the type to go around the whole school giving out 'tickets' of detention because we apparently too slow for her liking.

Walking the corridors it was the same routine as always, giggles, the whispers, just the usual.

First stop is my locker, I take out books for the first four periods.

"Sugar and spice." She whispered in my ear.

"Milk and honey."

"You've been quiet since the bus ride and you haven't said anything."

"Nothing's wrong. I'm just trying to gather my thoughts before I step in class."

"Its already been a month since schools reopened and still haven't gathered your thoughts?"

"What can I say? The school has a way of messing me up. Just the thought of it and I'm done, but what there's nothing I can do but push and get out of this place."

"Well then let's get to those classes then." She said with an arm around my shoulders.

Smiling we walked to our first class of the day.

The bell had just rung and it was now lunchtime.

"Hey, Amanda why you walking so fast?"

"I just got out of math class. It feels like my brain is on fire. It's like my brain has been hot-wired and it's about to explode any minute now."

"I seriously don't know how you excel in maths with that hate you have for the subject."

"I might hate the subject but you see all the beauty right here and this pretty face? It can just go to waste, it got the brains as well." I said doing a catwalk on the hallway.

Laughing, "I think Betty was right. You. do. look. like. a. pig." She said laughing in between her sentence.

"You know what? Let's just go meet up with the others before I kill someone." I said laughing with her.

Meeting with the group at our usual spot we sat down.

"Hey, guys."

"You guys are early today...unless you just came from maths."

"You are right."

Sitting down the conversation started going.

It was 5 minutes till the bell rings when the conversation was directed to me.

"So Judith was telling us about you and Austin."

"Me and Austin?"

"Yeah, and the taxi incident."

"Nothing happened. We were just making a conversation."

"Yeah, and it's the first time we here about it. We not fussing but we would have loved to hear all the juicy things."

"Well, I think we about to hear them because if you speak of the devil, he shall appear," Lucy said.

All turning out heads to where Lucy was looking we saw Austin coming our way. And he's staring at me.

Looking him up and down I was in awe.

Damn.

For a moment I forgot to breathe as I took in his entire body.

His huge, not simply in height. He's tall, who stands at a solid 6'0. Muscles that no 17 years old should be capable of possessing on display underneath the blue school shirt. I can't help but appreciate how well sculptured he is. I felt like I was looking at a piece of artwork.

Like I said before, damn.

"Hey, Amanda," Austin said.

"Hey, so what are doing this side of the school? Or are you here just to tell us to get back to classes, the bell has rung."

"I would but that's not the reason why I'm here."

"Oh we definitely know what you are here for," Mae said with a smirk on her face.

Rolling my eyes at the group I faced him, "And what are you here for?" I said with a tilt of my neck.

"I was wondering if I could walk you to class."

Not even responding yet the guys started handing him my things.

"Her bag," Mike says.

"Her phone," Mae says.

"An umbrella. For the hot sun." Judith says.

"And her hand," Natalie said pulling me up.

Snatching my hand for her I faced him, "Uhm, I'm sorry about their behaviour." I said grabbing my things from him.

"Let's go," I says.

"You know what? I think I'll take that offer from one of your friends."

"And that would be?"

Not saying anything he took the small remaining steps separating us and grabbed my hand.

Looking at out interlaced hands.

"Now, we can go." He says.

"GO GET IT, GIRL."

Annd they just ruined it.
