"And so, Sophomores," Principal Metcalf began "have a great year!" He concluded his long, drawn-out speech.

Even though Cyrus had spent years away from TJ, (and the fact that he saw him every morning and evening at a place that had always felt like home to him) this was strange.

Andi and Buffy were at either side of Cyrus, looking around to make sure that no harm would come to their friend.

They were quite the unorthodox set of friends: Buffy was now clad in the cheerleading outfit that she swore she'd never wear because she also promised that she'd dominate all high-school-sports, Andi's overalls were stained with paint from last night's acrylic project and she now wore a small hoop in her earlobe and a blue stripe in her short hair.

Buffy's hair was tied up in a high puff and she had her gym bag over her shoulder. Cyrus had grown quite a bit over the summer and wore a black button-down shirt.

He separated from his friends after a tight embrace as Andi had run off to talk to Amber and Buffy was with Marty. Cyrus swore that he was fine in fact, he needed a little alone time.

Cyrus was just floating through his lessons, wondering how TJ's first day was and if they were accepting of him and if his Mum would ever talk to him again. And then, Cyrus arrived.

He saw that the school was putting on a production of "Grease" this year and he needed some extra credit. He had hidden the fact that he loved musical theatre from everyone at school (besides Andi, Buffy and TJ) out of the fear of more bullying but after the events that took place over the summer, Cyrus became braver.

He signed up for the role of Danny Zuko - the role that he had wanted since he was a child, the cool guy.

TJ was being shown around Salt Lake City School of Sporting by a tall ginger girl that wore a leotard and had her hair tied up in a neat bun.

"So this," she explained "is the basketball court," She said gesturing at the gargantuan hall with shiny floors and a massive new electronic scoreboard was seen.

TJ was wide-eyed and speechless, he couldn't believe he was on this team, he couldn't believe that Cyrus had picked this incredible school for him.

"I know that smile, you weren't only smiling about the basketball court."Maddie giggled, showing TJ to the science and maths departments.

"Well, someone special to me encouraged me to come here," TJ said gingerly, Maddie seemed lovely but he wasn't sure if that would change once she found out that he has a boyfriend rather than a girlfriend.

He saw a sticker that said "bully-free zone" next to it and near the drama department, Maddie explained, there was a massive rainbow flag donated by charities as this school was named the most queer-friendly school in all of Utah.

TJ then felt much more comfortable to tell Maddie all about Cyrus.

She wore a genuine smile on her face and anyone could tell that she was happy for TJ. "You are so lucky!" she exclaimed " Some of us are hopelessly single," she sighed, waving goodbye to her new friend as she rushed off to her gymnastics class.
