TJ's father was sat at the dinner table, polishing off the last bits of his steak.

Everyone sat down at the table.

"Mum, Dad, I'm bisexual and Cyrus and I have been dating for a few months now," TJ said, his voice wobbling as he knew his parents were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His mother especially, being the church's pianist and encouraging TJ to do the same as soon as he turns 18.

His father started crying, an unreadable expression was plastered all over his face.

"Son, I love you. And I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't seen this coming for a long time. Do you remember when you and Cyrus were really little and proclaimed that you were married for a week? My biggest regret now is that I told you that you couldn't marry another boy and that you needed to find a girl to marry. I know how the church feels about it and I know how I felt about it ten minutes ago before you told me. But you're my boy always and I can tell that he makes you happy. So I'm happy for the two of you." He said, after taking a few minutes to process.

A smile of relief spread across their faces until Diane chimed in.

"So of my two oldest children, only one is normal?" She questioned shaking her head and covering her mouth in disgust whilst tears were brewing in her blue eyes.

"You know how God feels about this! You were supposed to take over the piano duties in the church. You are a disgrace! How dare you do this to the family? Amber dear, you don't know how much I am relying on you now," She said, her tone softening.

"And why is that? I'm a lesbian Mum." She said, getting up and standing in front of her younger brother, protecting him as much as she could with her petite frame.

"TJ has been going through hell recently. We all came here to tell you so that you could help your son! Your talented, caring son who's found someone incredible to be with. Someone who you already know and like! You should see past your ignorance and see your son and daughter who have always been there for you! To look after your other children when you were taking care of your mental health. To work when your finances have been low. To perform for you when your spirits are low. We have always been there. But guess what? He was bi and I was gay the whole time! So I suppose you don't need our sinner's money or all of the sinner's support we've given you." Amber said smugly.

Her mother lunged towards her daughter, screaming.

Being a dancer, Amber dodged her mother's clumsy attacks, instructing the boys to take the children out of the house.

As she was leaving, Amber remarked "I'll always be there for TJ when you aren't. I promised myself that a long time ago," She said, walking out with her long, blonde hair following behind her.
