Cyrus went to his new home- where Amber awaited him with a huge hug.
"Cyrus, why didn't you wait for me? Is everything okay? Are you okay?" She said, checking him all over, mortified when she saw the discoloured purple bruise on his neck.
Cyrus spent the next hour reassuring her that he was fine and that he had reported it until it was time to pick up the kids from daycare.
Since Cyrus and TJ hadn't been able to spend much time together - with their new contrasting school schedules, Amber allowed them to go by themselves. She made both of them promise that if anything happened, they'd call her immediately.
She was in her work uniform and jetted off to go to The Spoon, wearing a small smirk on her face as she knew that Andi would be there.
TJ and Cyrus walked hand in hand to the Daycare centre. Macy, Aaron and Carter were all waiting in a small bundle, their blonde curls bouncing everywhere as they jumped up and down.
"My Dad's shift is over soon, Cyrus," TJ remarked.
"He'd be happy to look after the kids so I was wondering if you wanted to catch a movie with me?" He asked.
"We've been together for long enough that you never have to ask me to go out with you," Cyrus giggled.
When Thomas returned, TJ and Cyrus left for the cinema, excited to catch up with one another.
Cyrus insisted on watching the newest horror movie, simply because he knew that TJ hated them and it was funny to watch him squirm.
"Please," Cyrus pleaded, looking deep into TJ's eyes. He knew his eyes were TJ's kryptonite.
"Fine, but if I can't sleep, I'm waking you up," he said, regretting each syllable as it left his mouth.
Cyrus clapped his hands in victory.
Throughout the whole movie, TJ had his hands over his eyes - petrified of the unpredictable nature of this film. If he had it his way, they'd be watching a rom-com or a 90's sports movie.
Cyrus planted a kiss on his forehead before bursting out in a fit of laughter at TJ burrowing his head into Cyrus' shoulder after a clown jumped off of a swingset.
After the movie, the pair walked out of the cinema hand in hand. Cyrus would swing their hands occasionally.
He heard a rustle nearby, but he shrugged it off as being part of his overactive imagination (they had just watched a horror movie after all). Then he heard heavy boots with identical steps to his own, as though someone was following him.
He gripped onto TJ's hand slightly tighter and walked a little faster.
After about ten minutes, Cyrus had enough. "TJ, I think someone's following us." He whispered.
They both began to walk a little more briskly until Cyrus became exasperated.
He stood still, and slowly began inching forward until he saw a figure in the distance.
His eyes widened, he was petrified.
