TJ arrived at school and tried to focus.

He just needed to go through the motions like it was a normal day. During practice, his technique was flawless as usual but he didn't look anyone directly in the eyes.

After a long and strenuous day, TJ met up with his friend Maddie to update her on his relationship with Cyrus.

As he started to break down and cry, she took him into her arms and let him get it all out of his system.

TJ realised that since the team turned on him and Cyrus became his boyfriend - TJ was really lacking in the 'friends' department.

"Maddie, what am I going to do?" He asked finally, in a hoarse voice.

"Make him proud of you and get through this. From hearing what you said, he's doing this for your future. Go and call him and tell him that you still want to be friends. I'll see you tomorrow." She concluded the conversation giving TJ another hug and going back to her dorm room.

Maddie had a point - he reasoned. When he returned to his room, he washed his face and video called Cyrus. He had to see his face again.

"Hey Muffin," TJ said softly, trying not to break down into tears.

"Hi," Cyrus said, letting out a sigh of relief. As painful as this situation was, Cyrus was so glad that TJ had called him.

"I got the role of Danny Zuko," Cyrus said filling the first uncomfortable silence that he and TJ had ever had.

"I'm so proud of you!" TJ responded genuinely.

"Cyrus, I need to go soon I have early morning practice. But before I do, I need to tell you something. I love you too. And I'm willing to be friends again. I'm really scared that you'll stop loving me soon but as long as you're in my life I'm happy." He said as a massive weight was lifted off of his shoulders.

"I'll talk more tomorrow. I miss you already." Cyrus said, ending the call because he knew that TJ never would.

Buffy came into Cyrus' room. Without a word from her, it was obvious that she knew it was TJ on the phone.

"Did I hear him say that you love him? And that he loves you?" She asked knowing the answer.

Cyrus nodded in response before hugging his old friend. "I hope I did the right thing," Cyrus said, being muffled by Buffy's dressing gown.

"We'll have a sleepover with Andi this weekend, like the good old days!" Buffy said, and a minuscule smile appeared on Cyrus' lips.

He did love a good sleepover.
