Cyrus arrived at TJ's house. He asked TJ's father if TJ could come out to the porch.

"TJ, I want you to listen to me until I've finished. You know how much I care about you. And how long I've cared about you for. You can't continue going to Jefferson and not be part of the team. And miss out on scholarships come Senior year. I won't let you. Seeing you over the past few weeks, I know you're putting on a brave face but you aren't the same. Basketball is your life. Those teammates were like brothers to you. You deserve to have that again. So, I've looked up queer-friendly schools and sport-schools that I think will be good for you. And I think we should tell your parents about what has happened recently so they can understand you. Amber should be coming back from the Spoon in a few minutes and-" Cyrus began explaining in intricate detail before being interrupted by TJ planting a soft kiss on his lips.

Although Cyrus was anxiously awaiting TJ's response, this kiss made him feel warm inside and his stomach was being crazy. How TJ was able to make him weak at the knees every time they kissed was beyond Cyrus.

Both boys were so wrapped up in the moment (and Cyrus was comfortably wrapped up in TJ's arms) that they didn't notice TJ's mother in the doorway with a beyond shocked facial expression and Amber standing there in her uniform, pretending to be shocked although she had known for a while.

"Inside, now." Were the two words that left Diane's mouth.

Cyrus interlocked his fingers with TJ's and gave his hand a squeeze. TJ returned this action by stroking the back of Cyrus' hand with his thumb. The boys were both terrified.

Amber followed with an identical look of terror spread across her glacial features.
