Still the same age

"Liam, how is school so far?" I see Liam in the cafeteria with a few people who I assume is part of his pack. He gives me a big smile. "Hey Madeline, come sit and meet my friends." He makes room for me next to him. Hesitant I place myself next to him. He tries to put his arm around me but I scoot away. "This is Josh, my beta. Allan by Delta and then we have Rian and Xander." They nod their head since their mouth is full of food. "So, I hear you are the person to talk to if I want to join the track team. It's impressive that you are the captian." Liam tells me and I blush for no reason. "Well yeah I am the fastest runner." Sounding confident, I hope, because my nerves won't pipe down and I don't know why. "I'm sure I can beat you." Very confident, typical alpha ego. "Please, you'd lose against me. That alpha blood wouldn't help you beat me." You hear ooehs and ah's around the table and Liam's eyes are big and then his face turned into a smirk. "Very well, I challenge you to a duel." I love challenges and I never say no to them. "Very well Alpha. State your challenge."

Liam

Her confidence is astounding, she's not even afraid going up against me. "Very well, if I win, you will go on a date with me and if I lose you can do with me whatsoever you please. Deal?" She seems to be thinking about it before giving me her hand to shake. "Deal! Meet me after school at the tracks, don't want to dissapoint you, but don't even bother to think of a date with me." She stands up and walks away.
I feel like I am being stared at and find that Austin is glaring daggers at me. I just give him a smile before continuing my meal. "Dahm bro, you weren't kidding when you said she is beautiful and dahm does she have confidence. Makes her kinda hot!" I growl at him. "Lay off Allan, she's mine!" He snorts, "Sure I'd like to see you try get that spitfire to fall for you."

Madeline,

"Why were you with Liam, Mad?" Austin questions me. "He's new with his pack, you have to be nice to people Auzzie, not everyone can be a grumpy cloud like you." I fire back at him. He studies me while we walk to my locker. "I don't like him, especially the way he looks at you."
The way he looks at me? "Don't know what you are talking about, besides, he challenged me to a race after school and I can't be more happier." Austin stops dead in his tracks, making me bump into him. "He what!" His loud voice makes me wince. Kaya also appears to be irratated by me. "Yeah, if he wins, we go on a date and if I win he gets to be my personal maid to do do whatever I ask of him." I get all my books out and replace the books I already used. "You can't be serious Mad, you should stay away from him." That makes me angry. "Austin! You are not the boss of me, I know we have been friends but that doesn't give you the right to dictate who and who not I can't be friends with!"
"Fine, go open your legs for him! Cuz that is what he is after!"

Austin

She slams the door of her locker closed and I feel my Luna mark begin to burn the shit out of me. It made me fall to my knees." Shit dude are you oky?" Max comes next to me and helps me up. "Yeah, I just don't feel so well."
"I'll take you to the nurse office just so you can collect yourself."
He walks me to the nurse office and lies me down. By now I am a ball of sweat and my mark is still burning. I now understand what my brother meant that it will burn like hell if I upset Madeline. He constantly gets burned for upsetting her, but its not his fault, it usually Ethan's fault for being away and she wanting to see him, but I don't think he ever had it this bad. I know I may have sounded harsh, but she doesn't know that she is Ethan's mate and she also doesn't know that, that dahm Liam wants to do more that just being friends. I can't let my brother or the alpha down in protecting Madeline. Even if it means she will hate me. I know she will beat Liam in a race, but he will still be at her back and call for a month. He will have multiple opportunities to try something with her and I fear that I might not be able to protect her for long.
I feel a fever comming along and my mark burns even more.
Why did Kaya have to bite me for heavens sake!
I felt better, but I think school is finished, just then the process started all over again.

Madeline

I see Liam approaching the track. "You know you are signing your own humiliation, Alpha." I feel fired up to race against Liam and Kaya is growling in my head. Not sure if she is irratated or fired up as well. "You're all bark, but no bite." He removes his jacket and joins me. "Hope you didn't plan our date yet, it would have been alot of time wasted." Max comes running, I wonder where Austin is.
Just thinking of him makes me mad all over again. "You guys ready to race?" We both nod and make our way to the starting point. We are going around the field 2 times.
Max shows the sign and we sprint off. Feeling the air against me as I run is refreshing, Liam is in front of me, he is really running fast, but he'll get what's comming to him.

"How?" Liam was out of breath on the track. "How did you beat me?" You guessed it, I won the race. "Told you your alpha blood won't help you at all." Oh the victory I felt winning him, it's his own fault for being so smug. "Lika I said, hope you haven't planned the date, Liam."
The race began and I let him think he was winning, oh the smack he talked while running was only fueling me to fool him. By the last few meters I overtook him, to say he was stunned bring joy to me. He tried to keep up but failed and I crossed the line first. Max laughed his ass off. "Golden Lin-Lin, you toyed with him, how mean of you." Liam looked at me in disbelief and confused, "You what?" I laughed with Max, "She totally fooled you man, she let you think that you were winning until the last minute."
I laughed at Liam and he looked so ashamed, "Very well, as our deal. I'll do whatever you say for one month." He looked so ashamed I almost felt sorry for him, key word almost.
