"The ring." I hear something say as I try to look around the field

"What ring?" I ask

I see Luna as she comes walking over to me, holding her hand out towards me.

"I know you aren't meant to be carrying this burden. But I need you to take his spot." Luna says as she looks at me 

"Luna, I don't know if I can. In order to take his spot, that would mean wearing the ring." I say

"Trust me when I say this, you will be fine with the ring. No, you are not blood-related but you are close enough to them that you will be fine." She says

"What if I hurt the others when all I want to is help them." I start

"Gene, you will be fine. If you don't try to do anything, they will get hurt even more." She says

I look at her until she walks over and takes my hand and sticks the ring in my hand.

I hear yelling and the crackling of the fires before I slowly open my eyes and see the boys fighting off the MTs.

"Guys?" I whisper

I feel my hand wrap around something solid and cold when I look down to see the ring in my hand.

Please don't kill me.

I look at the ring one last time before putting it on my pointer finger. I close my eyes as I wait for the consequence that I knew would hit me for putting the ring on.

I look over and see Gene moving slightly before she looked down at something in her hand.

No!

I go running towards her when I see the others as they are fighting against the MTs as I try to avoid all of the fighting.

I can't believe she would do this!

I watch as she puts the ring on before closing her eyes.

I feel somebody grab me before throwing me back. I look around when I see Gladio standing there.

"She put the ring on! You're not concerned about this?!" I yell

"Trust me, I am very concerned about it. But I know if you were to get to her, they would go after her." He hisses

I summon my weapons before I charge towards Gladio as he throws me back towards the smoke.

"You aren't going anywhere near her." He says

"Gladio, you know that I can handle myself." I hear a voice say

"Good to see that you're back with us, but now start fighting," Gladio says

I look at the boys when I see Gladio fighting Noct as I summon my weapon to my hand as I look for Ignis and Prompto as I see them looking towards where Ardyn was standing.

Where do I help?

I look towards Gladio and Noct as I see Gladio throw Noctis away from the altar towards the smoke.

"You aren't going anywhere near her," Gladio says

"Gladio, you know that I can handle myself," I say as I warp over to them and see Noctis leaning against his blade

He looks at me then at my hand as his eyes land on the ring.

"H-how are you still alive?" He asks
