Three

I stand up, picking up the bits and pieces of the bandage, throwing them into a corner.

"Gene, you should probably use some too." Prompto starts

"You have far worse injuries than the rest of us." Ignis states

"Boys, I'm fine," I say

"No, you aren't Rye. Don't even try to lie to us." Gladio says

"You're right. I'm not okay. But I can't do anything about that." I snap

"G..." Prompto says

"It's my fault he left. Gladio was right." I start "I couldn't calm him down enough. I couldn't give him enough reassurance that you guys care about him."

"He's just too blind with the news about Insomnia falling," Ignis says

"Besides, I was only blaming you cause I was worried about the kid." Gladio starts "If it is anybody's fault it's Prompto's, Ignis's, and myself's. We are the ones who were getting pissed off at each other and took it out on him in his vulnerable state."

I look at the ground, hearing footsteps echoing down the hall, coming closer to the cell.

"I don't even want to know who it is," I say, walking to the bed in the cell, sitting down

"You don't even want to talk to your king?" A voice asks

"Ardyn." You hear the boys whisper

"You aren't the king. Noctis is the true king." I say, trying to convince myself

"I'm pretty sure he gave that up as he feels like he isn't good enough." He says

I glance up and see Ardyn's figure by the bars and another body figure standing in the back.

"Well, I guess Noctis will just have to tell the gods that." I hiss "I'm down waiting for him to come to his senses and be ready to go to the gods himself."

"He managed to make it to one." Ardyn laughs

"Yeah, one out of six," I say

I push myself up off of the bed, wincing when my side moves, causing more blood to come oozing out.

"Looks like you still need a potion." He says, looking at me

"I'm fine. I know how to survive without curatives." I say

I look passed Ardyn, making eye contact with Noct as he just bounces in his spot.

"Got nothing to say, your majesty?" I ask

His eyes widen as he just stares at me. I push myself away from the bars.

"When are you going to let us go? I know that your favorite part of all this is the chase." I say, dragging my hand across the wall

"Ardyn, before you answer, let me talk to them for a while," Noctis says

"Like we want to talk to a traitor," Gladio says

"Let him talk Gladio. He can talk all he wants. Eventually, he will realize that he made a mistake." I say

Ardyn nods, chuckling as he turns to leave.

"Gene, listen to me." He starts

I walk back over to the bars and lean against them.

"I'm all ears, my love," I say

I hear the Ignis chuckle as Prompto gasps in shock.

"You know how I feel about you being locked up. But you going insane is going to be the death of me." Noctis says "Why don't you just join Ardyn and me?"

"Is that what you really want?" I ask

"Yes, I need somebody else strong to help us with Luna." He says

I look back at the boys and wink.

"Alright, just let me out," I say

He unlocks the cell door, quickly pulling me out. He goes to lock it again and I see him actually holding a dagger on his side.

I quickly reach other and grab it, holding it to his throat.

"Don't lock it," I say

"Gene." He says

"You lost the right to call me that Noct." I say "Only my friends can call me that."

He looks at me, hurt in his eyes as I open the cell door, quickly motioning for the other three to get out.

"I know we'll meet again. Till then, I love you." I say

I watch the boys run off in one direction. I pull the dagger away from his throat and run after him.

"Nice thinking back there Gene," Gladio says

"Ignis knew where I was going. It works almost every single time I'm taken as a prisoner." I laugh

"I wasn't surprised that Noctis fell for it if I'm being honest," Ignis says

I nod and look at the Regalia as Cindy is doing some quick repairs to it.

"Where are we supposed to hide for a while?" Prompto asks

"They're going to be looking for us," I say

"Noct would know where to find us," Gladio says

"But he wouldn't dare attack us in a place like Lestuallum," I say

"Lestuallam it is," Ignis says

"Did you guys find Noctis?" Iris asks as she runs over to the Regalia

I feel everyone's eyes turn towards me as I just shrug.

"Yeah, we found him. But he isn't him." I say

"He's with Ardyn," Ignis says

"What?" Iris asks

I nod and quickly grab the side of the car.

"G, you okay?" Iris asks

I go to nod when all of a sudden the ground is coming towards my head at a pretty fast speed.

"Gene!" Prompto yells

"She's lost too much blood. We should've taken care of that side sooner." Gladio says

I watch as they fade out of vision.

I blink as I wake up, getting used to the light.

"Gene, your awake!" Prompto says

"What happened?" I ask

"You lost too much blood," Ignis says

"How long are you going to keep me on bed rest?" I start

"We're all staying in hiding." Gladio says "As long as your side is bandaged, you're free to walk around."

I nod and swing my feet over the edge and stand up, double-checking the bandage.

"How are you holding up?" Ignis asks

"Please don't treat me like a kid Ig," I say

"We're just worried about you. After finding out the truth with Noct." Gladio says

I close my eyes as I stop the memories before they can even start to rush forward. I put a wall up and look at the other boys.

"I'll survive. I've been through worse." I say

They nod and open the door as we go to war towards the viewing area.
