The Deamon Prince (FFXV Noctis AU)

Five

I tighten my grip around her locket as I look around Gladin Quay. 

"Are you sure they're going to be here?" I ask 

"As you said, they hate just sitting around." Ardyn laughs 

"So you put a whole bunch of daemons around here?" I ask 

"It's one way to get them to come and check it out." He says "Besides, we're only here to talk to them." 

I look at him when I nod, heading towards the dock. 

"Well while we wait, I'm going to go fish," I say 

"Suit yourself." He says 

I look towards the road and see a black vehicle that I would know anywhere coming towards Galdin Quay. 

I shake my head as I stop myself from heading towards the dock. 

"Looks like they're almost here," I say 

"It looks like it. Shall we meet them?" He chuckles 

"Why don't we let them come to us? If we go to them, they're going to think we want to fight." I start 

"You're already learning so much. I'm so proud of you." He laughs 

I roll my eyes as I see Gene get out of the front seat, her hair pulled back. 

"Great, just what we need." Gene groans "What are you two doing here?" 

"We could ask you the same thing." Ardyn laughs 

"Get out of the way," Gene says, crossing her arms 

"Why should we?" He asks 

"We don't want any problems." Ignis starts 

"Just let us through and there won't be any problems." Gladio finishes 

I watch as Gene keeps her focus on Ardyn, not even throwing a glance my way. 

That's my fault...

I look at Ardyn as he keeps glancing between me and the three boys. 

"Quit with the act Ardyn, we know that you are the one who sent the daemons here." I start "Could you keep them away from here?" 

"That's a harsh accusation." He laughs 

I blink a couple of times then shake my head, laughing. I bite my tongue, looking away from them. 

Don't look at Noct... 

Don't show weakness...

"Of course you didn't do it." I hiss 

I walk passed them, shoving my way between them. I head towards the restaurant, needing to get info on which daemons he left here. I walk up to the counter, immediately being met with the chef. 

"Hey, you called about those hunts you needed to be taken care of." I start 

"Right of course." She says as she pulls out a few flyers 

I look them over and nod. 

"We can take care of these." I start 

"Thank you so much." She says 

"Any time," I say with a smile 

I collect all of the flyers, heading back towards the others. I'm almost to the car when I see Ardyn and Noctis still standing with the others. 

I roll my eyes as I shove through them again. I reach the other three, handing each of them some of the flyers. 

"Iron Giants, very original." I say "Lightning bombs, not very hard." 

I look through the five or six flyers we have then look at the other two. 

"Are you two going to disappear before we start fighting your army?" I ask 

"I kind of want to see these fights. See how well you manage without your leader." Ardyn laughs 

I laugh, almost falling to the floor. 

"You think we can't fight together as a team without Noctis?" I laugh "Try again." 

"We were able to escape from both of you guys without him," Gladio recalls 

"But if I remember correctly, Gene tricked me." Noct points out 

"You should've known it was coming. I do that quite often when I get take prisoner." I argue 

I look towards the sky and see night start to fall. 

"I guess you're more than welcome to come along to watch the fights." I start "But if you get hit, don't be all butthurt or expect an apology." 

I head off towards the beach, waiting for the iron giant to show itself. I bite my bottom lip as the other three come and walk over to me. 

"You doing okay?" Prompto asks 

"No. But I can't let them see how bad it hurts." I say 

"He's not the same Noct we knew," Ignis says 

"It is, he's just hiding it," I say 

I hear Gladio grunt when he points out the giant form starting to appear in front of us. 

"Let's take this bitch down," I say

"Ignis, behind you!" I yell, ducking under the sword 

I watch Ignis roll forward. I look at Gladio as he makes eye contact with me. I run over, summoning a dagger to my hand, jumping onto his shield as he launches me onto the giant's shoulder and I stab the dagger into its neck. 

"Nice one Gene!" Prompto yells as it starts to dissolve

I watch as Gene takes the Iron Giant down. I purse my lips as Gladio helps her up after her jump. 

"I think they've proven enough. They can still fight without me." I say 

Ardyn laughs when he decides to look down at me. 

"Am I making you feel useless?" He asks "As your friends are all over the girl that claimed to love you." 

"I'm the one who left. I don't want her to be hung up on me." I say "I don't need her, why would she need me?" 

I notice my hand go to my pocket and mess with the locket in my pocket. 

I do miss her... 

Is this the right way to do things?... 

I watch as the others come to walk over to us. Gene having her arms crossed as she puts one of the flyers in a different pocket in her jacket. 

"I think that should prove to you that you haven't made us weaker like you wanted to when Noctis joined you," Gene says  

Ardyn eyes me then looks at Gene's side where you can see a blood spot started to form. 

"Looks like the Iron Giant reopened the wound you gave yourself." He laughs 

Gene looks at it and shrugs. 

"Didn't feel a thing." She laughs 

Ignis hands her a potion and she uses it in order to stop the bleeding. 

"Now if you'll excuse us, we have these other daemons to deal with. Unless you want to call them off now." She says 

Ardyn moves aside as they walk past, Gene leading the way. 

"Looks like they replaced you with a girl." Ardyn laughs 

"She deserves to be the leader. But they're a team. Each one of them is important in one way or another." I say, watching as they disappear from our eye sight 

I'm sorry Gene...
