Links POV
As I held Lily's hand in mine we strolled out of the school. It was freezing outside, snowflakes were pouring down like rain. The air was thick with them, it was impossible to see even 10 feet ahead. As we walked I playfully swung my hand with hers.
"Do you remember the 7th grade dance?" I asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"You know how I said you were beautiful?"
"Yeah." She giggled as she turned her head to look at me. Her bright red hair was shining with the snowflakes, her gray-blue eyes sparkling.
"I meant it."
Her eyes grew wide and a grin lifted the corners of her mouth. She pulled my lips to hers. I wrapped my arms around her, into a warm embrace.
Our fingers intwined as we continued our walk to my house. The snowflakes came together even thicker now, it began to be hard to see through them. Our shivers filled the atmosphere as it became colder.
"It's so c-cold." Lily's lips were purple, her nose and ears bright red. "My lips feel like ice!"
"You want me to warm them up again?" I smirked.
She laughed and playfully punched my arm.
We walked along the sidewalk and came to a cross section where we would have to cross the road. We walk across. The road was covered in thick ice, super slick. We had to do the Grandpa-Shuffle across it. Even though our moment was perfect, all beautiful things come to an end.
"LINK!" Lily shreiked.
I was pushed to the ground, sliding on the ice to the other side of the road. My head had taken a beating and I could feel myself drifting off.
I heard two things.
The sound of screeching tires
And the sound of the girl I loved shreiking.
