When I went to school the next day I couldn't focus, I couldn't stop thinking about the girl I loved on the verge of death. I knew that there must have been rumors flying around, it was probably already in tommorow's newspaper.

I made my way to my locker, hanging my head low sorrowfully. The worries never left my mind as I walked.

Was she going to die?

Even if she does survive, what will she physically be able to do?

Tears started to well up in my eyes but I quickly wiped them away, I couldn't cry right there infront of everyone. I stopped where I stood and closed my eyes, taking a moment to cool off, to gather my thoughts. That's when I was suddenly shoved from the side. My books scattered across the floor. I turned my head to see another freshman named Christy, she looked like the deer in the headlights, her face turning red with embarrassment.

"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!"

I smiled, thankful for something to take my mind off of the emotional pain.

"It's okay Christy."

She blushed as she got onto her knees, helping me with my books. She brushed a lock of blond hair behind her ear. I knew that she was pretty shy.

As we finished cleaning up the mess of books I thanked her, she blushed and apologized again before walking down the hall.

I felt empty, my distraction was gone and the emotions started flooding in once more. I walked to my locker, reaching for the combination dial but my fingers froze, enclosing into a fist. I pulled it back and threw my hand at the hard metal surface, over and over again. Tears started to pour down my face, but the pain that came from my knuckles was far better than the emotional pain. It felt like my hands were braking but I didn't care. The tardy bell rang but I kept throwing my fists at the locker over and over again. I finally stopped to examine the damage I had done. The metal was dented where I had been punching and covered with red. I drew back my hand at stared back at its beaten surface. It had turned an unhealthy shade of purple and my fingers were soaked with blood. I fell to the ground and rested against the wall, pulling my knees to my chest and wrapping my arms around them. Tears fell from my eyes uncontrolably.

I needed to go home

I needed relief

I needed Lily
