That night, I had a dream that seemed more like a memory. It was a memory that happened twelve years ago and it was Christmas morning. Allen had woken me up by tickling me. After I was awake, he picked me up, put me on his shoulders, and carried me downstairs. We had breakfast, opened the gifts in our stockings then the ones under our tree. That was the year I got a teddy bear from Allen. Christmas 2007 was an amazing holiday vacation, yet I'm not sure if I can really choose a favorite year since Allen made them all fun and exciting every year. Without him this year, what's it going to be like?
I woke up in the middle of the night, particularly at 3:28 A.M. Realizing that I was holding Allen's picture, I put it back on my nightstand. The moon was shining bright outside my window and lighting up my room partially. It was a beautiful night, not a single cloud in the sky, just the moon and stars. Allen and I used to point out shapes in the stars out by our swimming pool every night over summer break unless it was raining. That's how I learned about constellations and types of stars, thus getting me interested in astronomy. Allen was proud of me for nailing astronomy in tenth grade but I gave him all the credit. I was still too tired to stay awake for long, so I stared at Allen's picture and fell back asleep.
