Where's Rebecca?

I got to school about twenty minutes early to talk to Kate. She started asking about my flashback, but there's no time to waste. "Never mind my flashback, I wanted to tell you about what I saw on the news." Kate looked at me looking confused. "There was a brief description of the car that belonged to the drunk driver who killed Allen. All I heard was that it was a black chevy cruze." "Did you hear who the driver was"? "No, it was time for me to leave. The drunk person still hasn't been arrested." When Xavier found us, I told him what I told Kate and he froze. "What"? Kate asked, snapping her fingers in his face. "Does anyone else think it's weird that Rebecca isn't here? She rarely gets sick." "Maybe it's just one of those days. I honestly don't care". It's true, Rebecca is almost never absent, but she does get sick at least once a year. She'll probably be back tomorrow.

I kept thinking about the meeting we're supposed to have on Friday with Rebecca, her family and my parents. Is she ditching school because she hates being confronted? Is this because she doesn't want to admit to her bullying? What's actually going on here? That school day went by fast, and I was hoping that when my parents got home, I could ask my parents if they heard anything else on Allen's case. After dinner, I went to the cemetery to visit Allen's grave. I sat on the ground and put my hand on the stone. "Allen, I need your guidance. You've always been there for me. I'd do anything to ensure that you get your justice, because you're my only brother. Whoever is responsible for your death, they will be punished. I promise." Later, I got a text message from Kate. She had driven by Rebecca's house and Rebecca's car was missing, but Rebecca was spotted in the side yard pouting. I wonder what that was about.
