Lars as the CEO

The next day, the sisters went to work. Jin called both of them to his office. They guessed it was going to be about the holiday vacation. They were right. Lars was there too.
"Okay sisters," said Jin. "Next week I won't be here. Lars will be replacing me temporarily. I'll be gone for two weeks because I'm going on a long holiday with mom and...Kazuya. I'll be back right before the tournament. Lars, you better make some arrangements and preparations like we discussed. Lee might help you, since Violet Systems has joined forces with us."
"Wow so I'm guessing it went great on Saturday?" said Anna. "Who's idea was it?"
"It was his idea," said Jin. "I'm just going because mom thinks it's gonna be great."
"Happy holidays Jin!" said Nina. "Send us a postcard!"
"I'm only going next week by the way," said Jin. "Not now. Now get back to work, the two of you."
The sisters walked out into the hallway.
"I wonder where he's going," said Nina. "Well anyway I think it's gonna be okay. Kazuya is showing feelings, and if something does happen, Jin will throw Kazuya to the sharks."
They continued their work and returned home.
"So what have you two been doing today?" asked Nina to the two youngsters. "Training, I suppose?"
"Yep we were," said Shasha. "And we cooked."
"I bet Steve doesn't know the difference between a zucchini and a cucumber," said Anna. "Do you know the difference, Steve?"
"Not really," said Steve. "They do look slightly different... but they taste alike, right?
"No they don't," said Shasha. "Zucchini is a little bitter."
"Wait what?" said Steve, shocked. "Wait the next time I go to the store, I'll buy both and try it myself."
"Speaking of going to the store," said Nina. "We should go. We're low on stuff. Now we eat."
They ate and then they went shopping in the mall grocery store. They bought all they needed and Steve kept staring at a Zucchini and a cucumber at the same time.
"They don't really look alike," said Steve. "I know the difference between them on the outside. But on the inside... they look and taste alike."
"I told you, zucchini is bitter," said Shasha. "You should taste it first."
"Fine I will do that first thing when we get home," said Steve. "I'm gonna try it by alternating the slices."
"Do whatever you want," said Nina. "Here help us pack these vegetables."
They shopped for all their necessities. Anna badly wanted to go to the beauty section of the mall but was forbidden to do so by Nina. They had their dinner in a restaurant located in the mall and went back to Nina's mansion. They unpacked the groceries into the fridge and pantry and then went to bed.
"I wonder what's gonna happen at the Zaibatsu without Jin," said Anna. "I mean I don't know if Lars will be a good CEO."
"I think he will be," said Nina. "He can be like Jin in many ways. He's not much older than Jin you know. He's only 28 years old."
"Wow, fancy having a nephew only five years younger than you," said Anna. "But then again... I'm only physically one year older than Steve. Heihachi is a very old father."
"I think his mother is young though," said Nina. "She's Swedish, and so is Lars. By the way, Anna, you don't qualify to be a young aunt. You're a young-LOOKING aunt."
"Yeah yeah whatever," said Anna. "So that means you're a young-LOOKING mother?"
"Actually I'm a young mom," said Nina. "I'm only 45 and Steve's already 23. So that means he was born when I was 22."
"Okay you win," said Anna. "Can't argue with that."
The week went on as usual with Kazuya suddenly visiting the Kazamas in the evening. Then Friday came, the maids came to clean the mansion and then Jin and Jun set off with Kazuya to Nagata Inakahama beach in Yakushima island.
Lars took over Jin's place as the CEO until the time when Jin returns.
The first few days with Lars as the CEO was okay. And then, it happened. It all started when Lars was looking through the accounts.
"How could this be?" asked Lars, exasperated. "50 MILLION has just VANISHED?"
"Huh what do you mean vanished?" asked Nina. "Mr Kaito, the accountant is very trustworthy. He couldn't have done this..."
"He quit last week, remember?" said Anna. "A new guy is here. His name is Mr Sensou. He only came in last week."
"Go call him," said Lars, putting a hand on his forehead. "I wanna know what he did with the money."
"Wait I'll go and get him right now," said Anna and ran out of the office to the hallway.
She returned five minutes later dragging a short and skinny guy by his tie.
"Alright now," said Anna. "Spill it."
"I don't know anything about it," said Sensou. "I was just doing my work like usual."
"Now don't lie to me," said Lars. "What have you done with the money? I bet it's all in YOUR bank account now."
"No I didn't take the money," said Sensou, getting scared. "Someone must have taken the money without me knowing."
"Oh yeah?" said Lars, while banging the table and standing up. "If you don't know, then why did you list it in the account?"
"Lars, you're gonna break that table," said Nina. "Calm down..."
"I didn't do anything," said Sensou again. "I'm innocent."
Sensou said nothing after this. Then Nina got an idea.
"Lars, just let him go," said Nina. "He looks innocent."
Sensou immediately got up and ran out of the office.
"Nina what are you doing?" asked Anna. "You just let him go!"
"No I didn't," said Nina. "If we wanna know who's behind this, we gotta follow him. He's bound to warn whoever he's working for."
"Nina, you're a genius," said Anna. "Come on let's go."
They went quietly out of the office and into the hallway. They heard Sensou talking and quietly rushed to the sound.
"Yeah they found out," they heard Sensou. "They asked me what I did with the money. I can't say I took it because you told me, can I? Then this blonde woman said I can go and that I look innocent. I came straight out and phoned you."
Then they heard an exasperated voice at the other end. They couldn't hear what they were saying but they know for sure that it was a man.
"Sorry sir," said Sensou. "I'll come right over as soon as I've done with work. If I come now, they'll notice me, for sure and sense something is wrong."
He hung up and ran towards his office.
