"Well you did technically mop the floor with me the other night," said Adam. "Or at least, you cleaned the pool with me."
"Well I'm surprised," said Nina. "To think that Jin dragged you all the way to Dr Bosconovitch's lab after seeing you is very funny. I can already imagine it happening."
"Yeah..." said Adam. "I got beaten up multiple times just to see you."
"And you deserve it," said Nina, taking a sip of champagne. "I think we should spar sometime, since you mastered Jiu-Jitsu, am I right?"
"Yes you are," said Adam. "But how did you know? I don't remember telling you."
"I have my sources," said Nina, slyly. "I spy on people, after all."
"Yeah right," said Adam. "Steve must have told you since I was talking to him about sparring."
"Wrong, it wasn't Steve who told me," said Nina. "Anna told me, since she and Shasha helped Steve find you."
"Oh, right," said Adam. "I forgot they followed too because they left early."
"Yeah they found your conversation boring," said Nina with a giggle. "This food is good."
They were eating when suddenly the music changed and Adam, Kazuya and Lee suddenly got up, at the same time and knelt down. Their ladies were very surprised. At the same time, they proposed to their ladies.
Lee didn't say the same though, he proposed to Anna to become his girlfriend while the other two did a marriage proposal. The others at the large table were hopping that they'll accept.
"Will you marry me?" asked Kazuya to Jun and Adam to Nina while Lee said to Anna: "Will you be my girlfriend?"
Jun had accepted Kazuya's proposal and they both started hugging. Jin and Xiaoyu just looked at the others happily since they were not ready to propose and they were already a couple. Anna had accepted Lee Chaolan as a boyfriend too. Nina was very shocked to suddenly hear this and stood still, staring blankly at Adam. Then she looked around and answered a very shocking answer that almost gave Adam a heart attack.
"No!" said Nina. "I don't want to marry you."
The crowd gasped and suddenly Nina started smiling slyly.
"Yes!" said Nina. "I was only kidding, but that felt satisfying. I will marry you."
Adam still stood there staring at her in horror.
"Um Adam?" said Nina. "I accepted..."
"Wait what you did?" asked Adam. "I thought you said no..."
"Well I did at first," said Nina. "But as I told you, I was only joking about it."
"Wait what?" said Adam, still shocked. "You accept me?"
"Just give me the ring, already," said Nina. "I'm not getting any younger here."
"Oh right," said Adam and put the ring on her finger. "We're officially engaged."
"You're so lame," said Nina while hugging Adam. "You didn't even realise that I accepted..."
"Yeah Sorry about that," said Adam. "It just takes me a while to recover from a shock."
"I know that," said Nina. "You haven't changed a bit, have you..."
The others started to clap while laughing. Nina and Adam were certainly a very funny couple, but also a very lovely couple.
"I ship them," said Shasha. "All four of them."
"Yeah me too," said Steve. "I never had parents to ship and now I do."
"Wait, Steve?!" said Shasha. "You crying?"
"Yes I am," said Steve, tearing up. "It's just so nice to see them happy now..."
Shasha tapped Steve's shoulder reassuringly, while laughing.
"But why is it so funny that you're crying?" said Shasha. "Maybe it's because of what Nina just did."
"Maybe," said Steve. "I'm very happy too, till I'm crying."
"I can see that," said Shasha. "Wait the music has changed again."
And so it did. It became a waltz music. It was romantic and the couples looked kinda surprised.
"Care for a dance-"asked Adam while giving out a hand but Nina didn't let him finish his sentence. She pulled him to a dancing position instead and they both started dancing. The other couples started dancing too. The others cheered from the side. Suddenly, Sugie nudged her daughter.
"Hey why don't you and Steve go and dance too?" she asked her. "Go on, Since you like him."
"Mommy I do like Steve, but in a friendly way," said Shasha and Steve turned red. "You're making this awkward for us..."
"Actually should we?" suddenly said Steve. "I mean should we dance?"
"Steve!" said Shasha. "What is this?"
"Oh come on," said Steve. "It's just one dance..."
"Okay fine but just one," said Shasha. She wanted to say something more but Steve quickly pulled her hand towards the dance floor.
"This is very unexpected..." said Shasha. "I can't even dance..."
"Neither can I," said Steve. "I've never done this before..."
"Then why did you agree to dance?" asked Shasha. "Fine, lets just follow what your parents are doing-"
Just before she could finish her sentence, Nina and Adam kissed.
"Umm no no no..." said Shasha. "Lets just continue dancing..."
"Yeah," said Steve. "Do you know any moves?"
"Umm no?" said Shasha. "Do you?"
"Umm... maybe?" said Steve. "Let's try something."
"Freestyle?" asked Shasha. "I don't know any dance..."
"Hey don't lie to me," asked Steve. "I saw you dancing in your room the other day..."
"That-That was because I had an allergic reaction to the soap I just bought," said Shasha, trying to cover up. "It didn't agree with my skin and gave me an allergic reaction."
"Yeah what kinda allergic reaction makes you smile and dance while jumping around?" asked Steve. "Come on, lets do something."
"Fine," said Shasha. "Let's do something, you start."
They decided to have their own dance and were surprisingly good at it. Everyone started cheering.
"Whoa I didn't know we were good dancers," said Shasha. "I only danced for fun."
She stumbled and heavily stomped on Steve's foot causing him to grunt in pain.
"Oops sorry about that," said Shasha. "I am a bad dancer after all..."
"Let's just finish this dance," said Steve, holding his foot. "It's almost over."
"Yeah I'm a bad dancer," said Shasha. "I just want this to be over."
She glanced over at her mother and she was laughing loudly at her.
"Oh god..." thought Shasha. "Why is my mother like this?"
"Hey is that Steve and Shasha?" asked Nina while looking over at them. "Oh yeah it is!"
"They need more practice," said Adam when Shasha stomped on Steve's foot. "Oow that's gonna leave a mark..."
"I didn't know that Steve and Shasha can dance," said Anna. "They are not bad at dancing actually..."
"Excellent!" said Lee. "They should go to dance class and not waste their talent."
"Did you hear that?" asked Steve. "Lee and auntie thinks we are good dancers and we should go to dance class and that we have talent!"
"Let them think whatever they want," said Shasha, annoyed. "The important part is that we're only dancing like this because we can't waltz."
Finally the music stopped and Shasha heaved a sigh of relief before running back to the table. She shot her mother a confused glance.
"So how did it go?" asked her mother. "Was your dance good?"
"Well in fact we were quite good, " said Shasha. "Anna and Lee thinks we should go to dance class and not waste our talent. Why did you set us up to dance anyway?"
"For fun," said Sugie, giggling. "I wanted to see how you danced."
"What?!" asked Shasha, shocked. "You wanted to see if I danced well? That would have embarrassed me if my dancing was bad..."A/N: It is a reference to my mom's idea actually, so I just decided to add it in, for fun...
