After having the ice creams, Nina and Adam went for a walk by the beach. It was a nice stroll along the beach. It was about 6.00 p.m. and the sun was beginning to set. It was a very pretty view. Nina leant on Adam's shoulder and he was surprised. He even put his arm around her and she didn't say anything. They watched the sunset and then at 7.00 p.m, they went to the beachside restaurant that they had tickets for. Nina wore the dress and shoes that Adam had given her. She looked good in it. They had their dinner, feeling the cool sea breeze, the cries of gulls and with a glass of champagne. Unbeknownst to them, they others had also booked three tables to spy on them. Xiaoyu left her Panda at the chalet and left a lot of bamboo to make up for leaving her behind. They were in disguise, so the couple couldn't really recognise them. They were giggling and watching them. Nina looked happy and was smiling all the while. Adam was glad to see her smiling too. They had a good time together. While they were waiting for their food, they gave each other a quick.
"Awww look at that," said Anna. "They're actually happy together."
The couple then had a toast with champagne and then drank it. They left the restaurant smiling to each other while holding each other's hands.
"I've never seen Nina this happy before," said Anna, tearing up. "This is beautiful."
"Yes I'm glad to see my parents getting along," said Steve. "I was once an orphan and now I find that I have a lot of relatives."
"Urgh Steve," said Anna. "Why do you always gotta ruin the moment?"
They waited until the couple left the restaurant.
"Come on let's go back," said Shasha. "Let's see how they're doing."
They went back to the chalet. Thankfully, they were taking a shower. Anna snuck into her room without the knowledge of Nina and quickly changed out of her disguise. Steve did the same thing too in the room that he shared with Adam. They hid their clothes before they could come out of the bathroom. Nina came out with her bathrobe and was surprised to see Anna there.
"So how did your date go?" asked Anna.
"It was good," said Nina. "Nothing happened between us. I didn't even let him touch my hands."
"Yeah right," thought Anna. "What a liar!"
"That's a pity," said Anna. "You should give him a chance you know!"
Back in the guys' room...
"So how did your date with mom go?" asked Steve. "Did she accept you?"
"Yeah she did," said Adam, nodding. "She was very happy. We even kissed."
Then Steve received a text from Anna.
Anna: Steve, ur mom is such a liar
Steve: What did she say?
Anna: She said she didn't even let Adam touch her hands
Steve: Why
Anna: She's too shy to admit it lol
"Who are you texting, Steve?" asked Adam.
"Oh just a friend," said Steve, truthfully.
They continued to exchange stories. Within the next few days, Nina and Adam had grew closer. They liked each other like they used to back in college. In fact, their relationship grew bigger.
"This is amazing," said Shasha. "When I first arrived in Japan, Nina was a complete loner. Then suddenly came Anna, then Steve, and now she has a boyfriend."
"Yeah things have certainly changed," said Anna. "Nina seems more cheery now. She's more friendly and sociable."
"Speaking of Nina," said Shasha. "Where is she? She definitely isn't with Adam, since he's over there with Steve."
Then they suddenly heard a noise from the kitchen. They walked over to it and found that Nina was baking something in the kitchen! She was smiling and humming.
"Nina so what's cooking?" asked Anna. "Anything special?"
"Yes specially for Adam," said Nina. "I'm baking him his favourite apple pie."
"Nothing for us?" asked Shasha. "So we starve while you two eat the pie?"
"Oh no you're not," said Nina. "I'm making you guys some chicken pie."
"That's a relief," said Anna. "You seem to be in a very good mood nowadays."
They walked out of the kitchen, giggling. It was very unusual but pleasant to see Nina like this. The others were glad that she was having some fun and pleasure instead of working at the Zaibatsu day and night and going around assassinating people that her client asked her to. It was also good that the rivalry between her and Anna had stopped and she had accepted Steve as her own son. Nina's life went from being a lonely woman who doesn't want no one to a very cheerful and sociable person.
The days went by with them going out and enjoying their holiday at Yakushima. Soon, there were only four nights left. They decided to have a grand celebration the day before they leave for Tokyo.
"Hey, can we go boating?" asked Shasha. "There's a tour package that allows us to go around the mini islands around Yakushima. It would be fun and besides, we'll be able to take a lot of pictures of the beautiful scenery."
"Sure why not," said Sugie. "Come on let's go. We can book a package by the jetty."
They went to the jetty and booked a tour. They would all go in one boat without sharing with any one since there were many of them.
"It's gonna be so fun," said Shasha. "I gotta charge my camera."
"And I gotta bring some barf bags," said Lili. "Just in case if I or any of us get seasick."
"I don't usually get that problem," said Shasha. "Maybe one of you guys need it."
They packed lunch too because they'll be given a one hour break at the last island before returning to the mainland. The island was beautiful and full of greenery. They left in the boat and it was speeding. Lili had a slight symptom of seasick so she used one of the barf bags that she brought. Anna had an even worse seasick incident. She had to use two barf bags.
