MONDAY, THE 13TH OF SEPTEMBER.
real life
Once Finn saw the message, his nervousness started to kick in. He was going to Maya's house, not even sure if she knew he was coming or not judging on Jean's talk.
He took a deep breath before placing his phone in his pocket and leaving the room.
"Mom, I'm going to Maya's!" Finn yelled for his mother to hear, but he didn't hear anything coming back from her.
"Mom?" He yelled again.
"She left, where are you going?" Nick appeared from the corner of the other room, holding up a cereal bowl and a spoon, munching on the cereal while standing.
"Maya's.. house.." He muttered.
"Isn't that too soon? House, already?" Nick furrowed his eyebrows as Finn sighed,
"I'm just going to comfort her, she's having a bad day." He went out of Nick's way, heading for the door.
"Comfort." Nick said with an air quote from one of his hands while holding the cereal bowl with the other hand.
"Shut up." Finn said before leaving the house as Nick chuckled, going back to his room.
Finn was walking down the street, looking for the right number of the house. "Two nineteen.. two twenty.. Two-"
"Two twenty one." He said, looking at the house in front of him. Finn took a deep breath before walking towards the door.
He rang the bell, taking deep breaths. He has seen her in real life before, why was he making a big deal out of this one?
What he wasn't expecting was for the door to be opened by a guy, slightly older looking but the same height as Finn.
"Can I help you?" He sighed,
"Uh- I'm looking for.. Maya.." Finn awkwardly talked.
"Maya?" The guy furrowed his eyebrows.
"Isn't this 221b?" Finn asked.
"This is 221a." The guy rolled his eyes.
"Wait, who are you looking for?" He asked Finn.
"Maya.. Maya Ruben."
"Jesus, the chaotic crackhead. It's the opposite house." The guy answered for Finn, and before he could even thank him, the guy closed the door.
"Rude much?" Finn mumbled under his breath before stepping down the porch and crossing the street.
He stopped to take a deep breath, why does he keep taking deep breaths? Finn walked slowly towards the door as he pressed the button for the bell.
This was it. It's actually the house. He's actually going to see her again.
"I told you! I don't want to have any of your sweet-healthy-vegan cookies!" A girl opened the door, already talking without seeing who was in front of her when he realized it was Jean.
Finn furrowed his eyebrows, "Sweet healthy vegan?" He asked, chuckling.
"Long story." She rolled her eyes, grabbing the boy by his arm inside.
"Who's that annoying guy down the street?" He asked.
"Oh, opposite house?" Jean tilted her head as Finn nodded.
"An arch-enemy." She simply said.
"It's her brother." Finn heard a voice from the other side of the room as he saw Maya walking down the stairs.
She was just wearing an oversized Lacrosse sweater and black leggings, but Finn always saw her as beautiful no matter what she wore. The guy has met her like what? Two times counting this one, and he already can't stop the compliments flooding his head.
"Hey.." He stood astonished.
"Hi.." She came to stand in front of him, even though the height difference between them wasn't that much, he was towering over her.
The two were there, staring at each other in silence without doing anything before Jean rolled her eyes, pushing Maya on Finn.
Thankfully, she landed in his arms, not falling on top of him as Jean pushed her weakly, knowing she'd tip over.
She quickly got away from him in embarrassment as both their faces went red, Maya snickered nervously.
Jean was already out of the room while the two of them were still in their awkward stance, with no one else to break it this time.
"Can we just hug and get this over with?" Maya said, drawing her eyebrows together out of confusion.
"Yes, please." Finn chuckled, taking in the girl for an embrace as she laid her head on his shoulder. The two hugging in peaceful silence.
"Get a room." Jean's voice was heard from the other side of the room as Maya broke the hug, seeing the girl with a bowl full of nachos.
"Sorry, she's just.. She's always like that." Maya chuckled again.
"Go up to your room and do something, I want to watch Euphoria in peace." Jean rolled her eyes as she pointed at the stairs with her free hand.
Maya and Finn looked awkwardly at each other before Jean scared them, "Go!" She said as the two of them hurried to climb up the stairs while laughing to each other.
