The sky was dark, as swollen storm clouds had blotted out the miday sun and the rain, an ever present friend of the city, was happily drumming along the roofs of Lannisport and Casterly Rock, high above.
Mounted high on his saddle amidst the hustle and bustle of the merchants and shoppers hurring to get a good view of the returned battalion, Lord Tywin Lannister was relieved but also slightly restless after his campaign against the Tully and Blackfish of River Run. It had been almost a year since he had seen his home and he was glad to be back, the rain was a gentle welcome to the tired man.
Wiping the water off his stubbled face with a gloved hand, he looked down at the fair child that slept nestled against his chest. Raindrops clung to her eyelashes and ran in streams down her sleeping face; she was a startling contrast to his other children with her fiery red mane and her squashed high nose but she had the captivating gleam of Lannister power in her eyes that made her unarguably his blood.
Arriving home, he went at once to his children's playroom, fearing how distraught he would find them. He had received word that his darling wife Joanna had died in the midsts of labor, to give birth to a....... A deformity. A wicked thought started to form in his mind but as if sensing it, the child he still held in his arms stirred. Warmth and affection crept slowly back in, reminding him of how important family was. Maybe Tyrion would live up to his namesake.
As he entered the room, his twin children leapt to their feet, both their faces baring almost matching appearances; red swollen blotchy cheeks and deep bags under their eyes told him all he needed to know. He gently unwrapped the little girl from her cocoon of blankets and laid her softly in a nearby bassinet before turning and embracing his children, whispering soft words of compassion and understanding, attempting to sooth the two.
After the twins had gotten a good cry and had updated their father on the most recent castle events, Cerci turned her attention to the most recent addition. She skipped across the room and leaned over the child's slumbering form, studying the child for a while before she finally spoke up spoke
" who's is she? Mother died giving birth to that thing," pointing in the direction of Tyrion's cradle.
Tywin gave the girl a hard look before responding " she's my daughter, your sister. Most importantly both of them are family, " he said with a grimace as he cast a look towards the cradle in the far corner, before addressing his children once more, " your Lannisters and when your a Lannister family means everything." He pondered over the hypocrisy of his own words for a moment before turning and heading towards the door. "Please be gentle with your siblings, I'll be in my chambers until dinner if you should need me." The twins merely nodded before running off to play.
As the years processed, the twins eventually began to grow detached from their younger siblings, preferring to play more 'adult' games in their chambers. Tyrion and (y/n) never seem to mind though, preferring to spend days at a time, sprawled out in the library ,reading books aloud to each other or strolling along the high walls of Casterly Rock, looking out across the sea while practicing their linguistic lessons or debating over the faith of the Seven faced god or the old gods.Though Tywin was the hand of King Aeryns II Targarian, when Jamie was diagnosed with a learning disability, Tywin took it upon himself to educate his children, spending most days pouring over books, scrolls and reading aloud. He taught them all how to read and write, their geography, sciences, history, languages, politics, religion, herbology, sword play and archery. By the time of their ninth name day they where expected to be able to read a book front to back, properly swing a sword, chop wood(Cerci excluded), plan out a tactical battle strategy, speak at least three languages fluently and be able to ride a horse without a compass or map and be able to arrive where they intended to.
Tywin was proud of his children, they where joy and his legacy. But (y/n) was always his favorite, you couldn't tell from how he treated her as he pushed her harder and was stricter with her but it was because he needed her to succeed, after all, she was the heir of Casterly Rock.
