Almost a year had passed, when a messenger from Clegane Keep arrived at Casterly Rock. Lord Clegane had just recently announced his plans for marriage and the Lannister family had been invited to the feast and wedding that followed.
Two weeks later, the night of the feast had arrived and the Casterly Rock household had fallen into havoc, screams and shouts filling the air;Cerci had been bellowing for hours about her hair, Jamie still hadn't bothered to put his trousers on and Tyrion was pitching a fit because he was being left at home in the care of his uncle, Keran.(Y/n) however had already gotten herself prepared earlier during the day and was reading patiently while waiting for her siblings. Sitting on a bench in the courtyard, she donned in a gold dress with red rose embroidered detailing, face cast downward as she was engrossed in a book about Clegane family history. As her father walked into the courtyard she must have heard his footsteps,as she looked up and promptly shut her book whilst rising to join him.
"Father, may i ask you a question?" She asked, Tywin nodded and she continued"Well I was just reading about the history Clegane house and their allegiance with the Lannisters. Normally when two houses unite there is a marriage involved but I didn't see anything about that in the book. Has there been one?" She asked, turning to look at him. "To my knowledge, no there hasn't, but the Clegane line mostly become soldiers or sell swords, which has caused a lot to die young and unmarried. Also there is normally a formal proposal issued and that also has never happened to my knowledge. Why the sudden interest in the Clegane house and marriage?" He asked slightly taken aback." Well, I had been pondering over the idea that if a lord and lady of two respective houses married to unite their houses, that would they not then keep their respective titles and lands? So it would make sense of you where to say, have an heir daughter of a strong house line marry the son of a strongly allied house so that the family's of both could keep their own lands after the union, say the Lannisters would keep Casterly Rock as a Lannister house and the other party would keep theirs?
" She asked, casting her eyes down as they walked towards the stables.
" That would be sound advice but say I where to take it, which Clegane would you choose to marry your child off to? The eldest Gregor Clegane , also known as The Mountain who rides, will be the one to inherit Clegane Keep is said to be a crude, unjust and murderous young man or would you choose Sandor, the youngest who will inherit nothing and though he may not be anything like his brother will no doubt prove just as unsuitable as his brother.
I do agree the idea that you are proposing is a very fine one but perhaps a union with one of our other bannermen may prove to be a better fit."
He responded kindly, knowing his daughter would gladly marry herself away if it meant that their house benefited from it. Tywin smiled as he looked upon his youngest daughter, all he wanted to do was to protect her from the unforseen events that their future was bound to hold.

As the carriage drew closer to Clegane Keep, Tywin busied himself by helping his children with their last minute adjustments; Cerci's haircomb had come undone and she needed assistance to put it back in place, Jamie's hair was sticking up in random places and (y/n) was to lost in her book to notice her siblings needed assistance. After helping the twins fix their hair issues, he reached over and snatched the book from her hands, slipping it under his cushion in one quick movement and turned to address his children. " We are to be guests in the house of one of our greatest bannermen, and I know you all have been taught quite well on how to act on such occasions. I will be expecting a lord and ladies not a pack of overgrown lion cubs, do I make myself clear?" Sighing, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the quite that still hung limp in the air.
Suddenly the carriage drew to a halt and the door was pulled open, plunging the passengers into a temporary blind state. Quickly gathering himself, Lord Tywin withdrew first, stepping out into the warm sunshine. (Y/n) followed behind, gathering her skirts she stepped out and next to her fathers side, the twins following in a similar fashion. Once they had straitened themselves out, they walked together towards the other group that stood in the courtyard. Lord and soon to be Lady Clegane where standing off to the front of the handful of others that stood near. " My Lord Lannister!! Thank you so much for gracing us with your presence for this joyous occasion! It is an honor to host our good and righteous Lords, The Lannister Family!" He called the last part loudly causing cheers and shouts from the rest of the Clegane house. Lord Tywin smiled and thanked Lord Clegane for the invitation warmly and the two men embraced one another before then started on the official greetings and interdictions. Lord Clegane brought forth his soon to be wife who was plump with child and positively beaming as Tywin stooped, kissing her fingers gently. Next he brought forth his eldest son, Gregor who towered over most the men in the courtyard, was as muscular and largely built that (Y/n) wondered if he wasn't part warhorse, she had to stifle a laugh as he struggled to bow, as he almost tipped over from the weight of his torso. Last was Sandor, the youngest who was almost as infamous as his brother. People called him cruel things behind his back to scared to say it to his face but the thing they talked most about was his hideous scar. (Y/n) had heard the stories all her life and had been quite trilled to finally see it for herself first hand, found herself looking instead at the rest of his face. The scar was nothing, merely covering the right side of his face from his forehead down to his cheek. She found herself captivated by the way the light of the hazy afternoon made his eyes glisten, the way his beard almost hid his little smirks, shanking her head at the strange thoughts that filled her head, she turned her attention to her siblings that where currently shaking Lord Cleganes hand.
The Cleganes soon led the Lannisters to the main hall, where a large feast had been laid out. (Y/n) had sat purposefully near her fathers right hand but realized her error all to soon as Lord Clegane soon called him over to sit at the High table with him, leaving the seats on either side of her empty.
However that only lasted a moment, as both seats where promptly taken by both Clegane brothers.
Sandor, who's sixteenth name day was just around the corner, sat on (y/n)s left hand side and Gregor sat on the other.
Growing up in Casterly Rock, (y/n) hadn't spent much time with men, besides her brothers, father, uncle and guards of course.
In her experience, men tended to only talk about war, killing, violence and sex, nothing that would interest a girl of her age. As she was trying to come up with conversation starters, she couldn't help but notice the occasional glances Sandor was sending her way. Just as she was about to open her mouth to speak, Cerci let out an earsplitting giggle. First looking over at Cerci and then following her gaze, (y/n) realized exactly what had caused Cercis outburst. Gregor had been gawking at (y/n) throughout the entirety of his meal, not even looking down as he shoveled piles of food into his mouth, getting more on the table and himself than actually in his mouth.
(Y/n) blushed feeling quite embarrassed by thr unwanted attention, cleared her thoughts before turning to Sandar,
quite intentionally ignoring Gregor, before asking, " what's the best view you've got here?" Sandor seemed to pause for a moment, his face showing his confusion as he muttered something quietly in (y/n)s direction and then returned to eating.
"My pardon Sandor, but I was unable to hear your response," she said quietly, so he alone could hear.
" The tower," he said again louder, turning and finally matching her eyes.
" From the ground?" She scoffed "That doesn't seem like a very good view!" She wanted to try to get a rise out of him, to draw a smile to his lips but instead his features darkened
" Are you daft? Of course I meant the fuckin' top!" Sandor huffed angrily.
(Y/n) frowned, realizing how miserably her plan had backfired.
" I believe what my daughter was trying to convey was humor, young Sandor." Lord Tywin added over (y/n) shoulder. (Y/n) turned and smiled at her father, he always seemed to know right when to swoop in and save the day.
" I know you all will be bored by the wedding no doubt so you have all been excused from attending. I've been invited for a goblet of wine and a good chat with Lord Clegane afterward so I will be taking a few of the guards with me. I'm leaving the remaining guards to look after the twins but I know you," he said turning to (y/n) while a smirk pulled at the corners of his mouth, " will probably be wandering around, looking about with one of these," pausing to gesture at the Clegane brothers,
" I assume you would fight an escort even if I did try, so please just be careful." With that he turned and followed Lord Clegane to his war room.
" Others take me. I hate it when he does that," Cerci said suddenly, " he just sneaks up out of nowhere, he does it all the time at Casterly Rock." She continued as if explaining to the Clegane boys but they had both stood from their and paid her no heed; Gregor headed to the kitchen and Sandor turned toward (y/n) as he rose.
"Are ya' finished?" He asked.
" Finished with?" Both (y/n) and Cerci asked in unison, Cerci receiving strange looks from the other three.
Turning his gaze back towards (y/n) he continued, " Are you finished eating? You asked about our best view," he staited curtly as he turned and began to stride off, heading towards the central stair case.
" Please wait a moment," she called our but he was already out of sight. ( y/n) was flustered but calmed herself quickly before biding her siblings and guards goodnight before running off to catch up with Sandor. When she finally did catch up to him, red faced and slightly out of breath, she used her free arm to gently slap his shoulder.
" It's your fault," he said, looking over at her face, she quickly gave him a pouty look causing him to laugh.
" How is it my fault?" She asked exasperated, turning her concentration to her feet as there where a lot of steps and her hem kept finding its way under her toes.
"Well you took to long, you did ask for the best view, didn't ya?" He asked, studying her face out the corner of his eye.
" Yes I did,but I thought I was draft and couldn't tell you meant the top," she responded with a quick laugh.
Sandor abruptly stopped, his foot hovering above the next step which startled (y/n), causing her to turn quickly and look towards him, at this distance they now stood eye level with one another. " I apologize for my rudness, I deal with a lot of idiots daily and I took your words quite literally." He stated, starting to walk again with (y/n) following close behind. " I forgive you Sandor, and I am also at fault as I should have thought about my jest more before I spoke. But if i may be forward, I am really enjoying your company right now." She responded, while a light blush spread across her face. Forgetting herself and her footing in the moment,
she missed a step and ended up bashing her toes into the next step. Cursing, she gathered her skirts again and concentrated on her feet, they both fell into a comfortable silence continuing their way up the steps without further incident.
(Y/n) and Sandor eventually reached the doorway that lead to the guard tower on the roof. Sandor stepped forward and pulled open the door, holding it open so (y/n) could go through first. She ducked under his arm and out into the crisp evening air.
The sun had just set, leaving the sky a cool blue-gray and the mist was starting to form, causing a chilly wind to blow. (Y/n) and Sandor walked to the edge, (y/n) gasped. "You can see Casterly Rock and Lannisport from here!!!" Which caused him to smile at the girls excitement
"This view though," Sandor said as he walked over to the other side of the tower, " is my favorite." (Y/n) followed and stood next to him, her mouth agape and stunned into silence. Below, the forest spread out filling the horizon, but just below them in a perfect circle clearing, was the heartwood tree. With emotional tears filling her eyes and entranced by the beauty that ensnared her thoughts, she finally spoke. "This is so captivating Sandor, thank you for sharing such a beautiful view with me."
" Not as beautiful as my view," he muttered before turning his attention back to the heartwood. (Y/n) looked over and laughed, "Your view is only better because your taller and can see further." She responded, obliviously.
They spent hours walking around and talking while taking in the sights from atop the high tower. As twilight shrouded them he begrudgingly lead her downstairs and to the room that had been prepared for her, awkwardly bidding her goodnight quickly and turning to leave he froze as her hand grabbed ahold of his arm, she reached up,standing on tiptoe and planted a kiss on his cheek. " Thank you, San," she murmured before turning back to her room.
"Thank you, my lioness." He grunted before heading towards his room, a blush spreading like wildfire across his face.
The next morning, Tywin quickly gathered up his children and after they all said their goodbyes, some more teary than others, headed home to Casterly Rock.
