Lord Tywin's position as Hand of the King had been easy over the last 16 years, allowing him to come and go from Casterly Rock as he wished but quickly become more demanding as King Aerys II Targarian had begun racking up a fairly large body count.
Tywin originally would be gone for weeks at a time at first, always coming back to check in on his darling children. But as time passed, his trips home became far and few.
In the blink of an eye, two years had already passed and Tywin's latest visit home had been both necessary and warranted. The main reason for his return was to bring the twins to Kings Landing but to Tywin, the biggest part of the visit was seeing (y/n).
Over the last two years she had shot up like a weed and had apparently become very competitive with her siblings when it came to school work and lessons. As they sat down to a family meal, the first and last one for a long time, Tywin allowed himself to bask in the moment, absorbing as much as he could of the feelings and emotions that hung thick in the air.
Life in Kings Landing was physically and mentally draining but here at home with his children around him, he didn't have a care in the world.
' At least not for right now,' he thought to himself, draining the last of his wine.
The next morning, headache throbbing from the drinks last night, Tywin grumpily explained to Cerci again why she had to come, even though her two biggest dreams as a kid where to be queen and see the Red Keeps Throne room, the idea of leaving Casterly Rock behind terrified her. Tywin's plan was to talk King Aerys into wedding Prince Phaegar and Cerci, giving Lannisters a grab for the throne after the old geezer died.
Cerci wasn't one bit thrilled with the plan but when Tywin promised that Jamie would be accompanying her, she finally consented to go.
Before they left, (y/n) pulled her father aside into an empty room. "Why was I not asked to go as well, Father? I could marry him if Cerci isn't the right match the King is after?" She offered, slightly offended she had not been asked to go along as well.
" (Y/n), my dear, I need you here to run things for me. You know the army almost as well as I do and I know you could do our finances with your eyes closed." He replied with a smile, leaning in he whispered, "Plus your the only one I trust with such a task, Uncle Keran will remain behind to help you with anything you may need."
He gently kissed her forehead, and pulled her into a long, tight hug before leaving the room to finish gathering the twins and oversee the preparations for their return trip to Kings Landing.
(Y/n) felt proud but a little scared of being left in charge of Casterly Rock. Her father was right, she was confident in her skills but at such an age, she was still slightly wary of the work that the position called of her. She had grown in both body and mind over the years.
At twenty, (y/n) had begun to grow into her body, filling out her feminine figure and quickly learned how to use it to her advantage in the fighting pit and her mind to match wits with the Maesters.
She would be able to do this, she had to, to make her father proud. She stood on the battlement, waving even after their carriage had passed far out of view, until she was sure that no-one could see her, then the tears just started to pour uncontrollably. She had missed her father a lot over the last two years and there he was, leaving again, this time taking her older siblings but leaving her and Tyrion behind. She cried over lost time, parted family's, passed friends and for long distant memories that still kept her warm at night. She could do this.

Almost a year had passed since Tywin, Jamie and Cerci had left for Kings Landing and there had been very few messages sent towards Casterly Rock, other than the usual updates of Lannister forces and income. (Y/n) had just recently come in from a morning of hard practice and had allowed herself to slump down in the Casterly throne. However just as she did, her Uncle Keran rushed into the room, holding aloft a scroll with her father's seal.
Jumping up and seizing it from him with a grunted thanks, she ripped it open and read it once over quickly but found herself bemused. Rereading it twice did her just as much help, it was clear her father was angry that King Aerys had refused the proposed union of his son and Cerci, but how could he not be mad that the king had instead made Jamie a member of his Kings Guard, meaning Jamie could no longer inherit Casterly Rock.
Why was father not more upset about that! (Y/n) certainly knew she was!! Father had also requested a large garrison of troops be sent to Kings Landing as Robert Barathian was starting his rebellion against King Targarian with the help of many houses. It seems that lots had grown tired of the *Mad Kings* antics and where all to happy to join the rebellion against him.
(Y/n) got to work strait away in the war room, organizing the battalion that was to be sent.
She chose to leave only a couple dozen guards in Casterly Rock and Lannisport, knowing they would be much more help on the battlefield.
After informing the commander of his new assignment, she sat down and wrote a scroll of her own, informing her father that the troops would be on their way by midmorning tomorrow and an update on how things where going in both Lannisport and Casterly Rock.
The next day, (y/n) went down the road that lead to Lannisport, to spend the day with her people and to stock up on necessary supplies. (Y/n) had refused to bring her uncle Keran even after his multiple attempts at trying to get her listen. (Y/n) loved her uncle but he had a tendency to be a bit long winded when it came to stories or facts of trivia and
(y/n) just wanted to spend some time in peace.
Walking near the spice shops across from the docks, (y/n) breathed in the scent of the ocean breeze as it mixed with the exotic spicy scent and listened as the waves crashed onto the shore.
Completely lost in thought to the stimuli that currently surround her, she hasn't realized she was being followed until it was to late.
A sound, shouts, a sudden pain in the back of her head, the feeling of blood dripping onto her back and then the world tilted sideways and turned black.
