The world changes with six letters. The way you see, the way you think, the way you feel. With six letters, your existence as a whole changes. Cancer. Cancer did that to Jungkook. It had been a few weeks since Christmas. New years and gone and past them without much care. Said man had been in and out of hospital, getting tests to see was he a viable donor for his mother. The results would be coming in tomorrow.
The trio were jumbled in a cuddle pile on the bed, Jimin and Yoongi either side of their taller boyfriend. Jungkook didn't talk much these days. He didn't know what to say, what to do. His boyfriends were beyond worried seeing their bubbly lover become so... dull. It was as if his joyed and chatty self had been left in Busan and here lay his empty shell.
Yoongis hand lay against the tallers chest, fingers tracing small circles as he felt the warmth of the others body. Only for that heat he would doubt the elder was present at all. He stood up, looking down to his two gorgeous lovers from the side of the bed and saw nothing but pain fill their features. "I'm going to make some food, you guys hungry?"
Jimin smiled sweetly, nodding his head, "Yes please baby, that'd be great."
The smallest nodded his eyes trailing up to meet Jungkooks, "Kookie? Will you eat?"
The elder didn't respond for a while, staring at the ceiling with little to no movement at all. Only the steady rising and lowering of his chest confirmed the elder was actually alive despite how he felt inside. Eventually he sat up, shocking both of the smaller men. Jungkook put his head between his palms and inhaled deeply. He wrapped his arm around his husband beside him and held a hand out for their younger lover, who happily accepted, sitting back down beside the elder pair.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm being like this, I didn't even think about you guys, and what its like to watch me be like this-"
"Don't you dare apologise for feeling sad Jungkook. Don't. What you're going through is perfectly natural." Jimin sternly chided as he hugged his tall husbands arm.
Jungkook chuckled, "No, I really am sorry. I'm just nervous I guess. What if I'm not a match? What if she continues to get sicker? She keeps blaming herself and it's-"
"Not fair?" Yoongi offered a short smile, moving to sit on his knees, holding Jungkooks face between his hands, "You blame yourself too. So just breathe, be sad, cry a bunch, and at the end of it all, we'll be here. You'll get through this, I promise."
Jungkook silently nodded, falling back against the sheets. "Lets hope so."
The blue plastic chairs of the hospital waiting room screeched eerily under their weight. A strong smell of antiseptic invaded their nostrils as they patiently awaited the doctors call. Only Jimin, who worked in labs and hospitals, could stomach the unbearably clean walls and numbing silence, apart from the occasional squeak of somebodies shoe against the lino floors.
Jungkooks leg bounced up and down incessantly, his arms crossed tightly across his chest as he bit his nails down to their painful nubs. Jimin had his hand on the youngers thigh, offering his silent but ever present support. Yoongi too fidgeted nervously, always being extra anxious in hospitals.
Jungkooks Eomma came to Seoul a few days ago, she was currently talking to the doctor. The plan was for her to stay in Yoongis room for a couple of weeks while the younger would sleep in with his boyfriends.
Every minute passed painfully, the tallest of the three getting antsier with each second.
"Is it normal for doctors to speak for so long?" Jungkook asked with a tone of frustration. Jimin places his hand on the tallers arm and made him look into his eyes.
