Shit. I'm late.
Yoongi started his morning in a rush, his alarm didn't go off because his phone died and he's unable to charge it at home. He usually borrows a co-workers charger and does so at work.

Yoongi jumped up from bed and ran to his kitchen, which wasn't really a seprate room, more so just some counters in the corner of the single room.
Yoongi splashed some cold water on his face and quickly brushed his teeth, he used a tiny sample bottle size of toothpaste he'd gotten for free at the clinic.

Yoongi then ran to the other corner in the room, changing his previous clothes onto some clean ones.
Luckily he had done his laundry and the laundromat just two days ago.

He then grabbed his keys and dead phone before sprinting out of the apartment.

Yoongi ran the entire way to work. He hated being late. He normally didn't work in the store for the night shift, but due to an ill co-worker and a gap in yoongis schedule, here he was. Running late.

His legs burned from so much activity so close to have only been awake.
Not to mention the ache that surged through his veins. The boy was exhausted and starving, when did I last eat again?

Ignoring the thought, yoongi pushed though the pain, speeding down the street, manoeuvring his small body through the crowds of people.
Then he finally reached the small convenience store. The store was more in the centre city, some distance from yoongis apartment on the border of the city and suburbs.

"You're late Min!" Yoongis usually bubbly boss calls flatly as the boy rushes to the staff room.

His boss Jung Hoseok came in loosening his tie. A small smirk displayed on his sunshine face.
Literal human embodiment of sunshine.

"Sorry sir, won't happen again sir" yoongi chants as he does whenever he's late, which to be honest isn't very often.
Yoongi was actually a perfect employee.
He was good with customers, showed up on time, he doesn't complain and never cancels work.

"It's alright kid, relax. Everything okay for you at home?"

Here's the thing.
Yoongis boss doesn't know about his home situation.
Often he will ask about home, and yoongi just lies.
He doesn't find the harm in a few white lies.

"How's your parents?"
"Not much happening"

Which is true.
There's not much happening when you're dead.

So yoongi stops and smiles at his boss briefly.
He was a young man, around 25 years old. He runs a magazine but helps his grandmother with her convenience store.
Hoseok was a kind boss. He never yelled or got mad at yoongi.
The only issue between the two was yoongis wages.

"I can't pay you anything else, it'd be cheaper for me to hire some part time high schooler, but you've got something I like" hoseok once told the boy with an empathetic smile.

"Life's all good sir, nothing happening to be honest." Yoongi finally answered his boss after he'd returned to the main shop floor.

"That's good to hear, send them my good wishes"

"Of course sir"

"Now yoongi, is there anyways you can cover a shift on Thursday?" His boss asked, his voice laced with hesitation.

Yoongi froze, "sorry sir, I'm visiting someone on Thursday, I won't be in the city"

"Oh, that's alright, I'll get someone else. Anyways I'm off!" The cheery boss beamed before making his leave.

"Bye sir" yoongi bowed respectfully.

Yoongi then began his meaningless job, restocking shelves, working the cash register, moping the floors. After all was said and done, and time passed effortlessly, and at 6 am yoongi waved to his co-worker who was covering the day shift as he left.
