"-and that's how I single handedly defeated the boys volleyball team in under 15 minutes." Jangmi smiled proudly, shoving the last of her food in her mouth. Yoongi watched with an amazed expression, this family was simply perfect!

Throughout the lovely home made dinner, prepared by Mrs Park and Jiho the family went around and shared various stories, the most interesting ones popping from Jangmi in particular.
Yoongi, although loving the happy and warm atmosphere, couldn't help but feel out of place. He didn't have stories he could share, or at least none appropriate for the occasion.

Jimin placed a comforting hand on the boys thigh under the table, sensing the his shyness. Yoongi appreciated that, he loved how his boyfriends could just sense that something was wrong and respect his feelings.

Yoongi helped clear the table, drying the dishes after Mr Park washed them, then Jiae would put them away. Meanwhile the rest of the family gathered in the living room to relax or knock out into food comas.

Yoongi thought it was nice for Jimins whole family to be together, and make both him and Jungkook feel so integrated into their household. Although Yoongi couldn't help but feel curious as to the whereabouts of a certain family member.

"Hey Jimin?" The smaller asked as his boyfriend walked into the kitchen, "where's Jungkooks family?"

Jimin took a moment to gather his answer, waiting for his dad and sister to leave before getting closer to the boy.
"Jungkooks family is a little... different. It's something you need to talk about with him baby, but his mother should be coming over later. Don't worry baby," he held his hand on the smallers hip and placed a chaste kiss on his cheek, he could sense Yoongi was worried, as the boy usually was for his loved ones.

The pair entered the living room, Yoongi plopped onto Jungkooks lap, as there was limited seating available, not that either of the men minded.  A Christmas movie played on the television, the happy calm songs trailing through the air, making warm bubbles of joy float in Yoongis tummy. That was until Jungkooks phone vibrated in his pocket, causing the boy to shift slightly, allowing his boyfriend the access he needed. Yoongi could see the seriousness wash over Jungkooks face as he read the text, he took a moment after closing the phone, needing to steady his breath a little.

"Sorry Mr and Mrs Park, but would it be alright if my mother came and joined us now? She just finished her shift. I know it's late notice." He asked while sitting up, holding Yoongi securely in his lap, almost like the boy were a comfort item.

The older couple nodded and smiled knowingly, "of course dear, shall I re-heat some dinner for her?"

Jungkook nodded in appreciation, "thank you Mrs Park, that's very kind of you, I don't think she's eaten today yet."

Jungkook stood, placing Yoongi on his chair, and walked into the hallway to grab his shoes and coat. Yoongi shared a look with Jimin, who smiled and nodded, before Yoongi jumped up and ran into the hall as well.

"Can I come?" He asked while trying to put in his shoes haphazardly. Jungkook wore a worried look, but inevitably agreed, knowing Yoongi would meet his mother eventually.

They got into the car, Jungkook quickly turned up the heating before carefully driving down the street. The roads were empty, as it was Christmas Day, everyone was at home enjoying this time with their families.
Yoongi idly stared out the window, enjoying the warm air of the car and the soft Christmas music floating from the stereo.

"Yoongi," Jungkook started with hesitation, trying his best to word his, warning? He wasn't sure, but almost giving his smaller boyfriend a disclaimer about his mother.
