The following day came and held promise to be a wonderful one. Malaya went ahead and did her every day routine. The time seemed to have flown by faster than ever, not that she was complaining. She had three hours to spare before dinner and decided to make use of it and be early for a change. At least she would have ample time to do everything properly and spend as much time as she wanted on each area of her body. So she got to it. She took a bath, a long and relaxing one. Ensuring her body was well soaked in all the minerals and essence that she added to the water. When she realized her fingers and toes began to get wrinkled she decided it was time to get out of the water.
Wrapping her body and hair in towel she exited the bathroom and went to her room. Lotion was lathered onto her skin and body splash was gently sprayed to her upper body area. She took out matching underwear from her suitcase and put them on since she hadn't gotten around to unpacking. Rummaging through her suitcase and making somewhat of a mess she searched for a nice dress for the evening. After what seemed like forever she found just the right one. It wasn't over the top and it wasn't too simple. She laid it on the bed then wrapped the towel around her body once more and went to work on her hair. Some hair cream was squeezed into her palm and massaged into her scalp and on her hair. Then it was done in a messy bun with two tendrils at the side.
Now that that was out of the way she tied a scrap around her hair line. Her hands were washed to remove any residue from the hair cream and she was all ready to work on her makeup. She only used a minimal amount to give her a subtle look and feel. Checking her watch she realized it was almost five which was the time they agreed on and Chris would be there any minute. She stepped into the sleeveless royal blue dress that had a silver belt around the waist and slipped her feet into the silver shoes. Her earrings and chain was then added to finish the look.
She grabbed her purse and her phone, just in case of emergency and went to the living room. Soon after Chris arrived and they drove off. He took her to a nice restaurant one that wasn't grand or austere but jus perfect. Menus were handed to them as soon as they were seated. Shortly after the waitress came back with two glasses of water and placed them on the table. They ordered since they were ready. Chris started up the conversation asking her about school and the experience. They talked until the food came then they ate. Once they were finished both of them sat and stared at each other. The thought of how much they missed each other lingered in their mind. Their dessert came and they ate it and talked in between.
Chris paid the bill and they left, but instead of getting into the car he lead her down the street so they could take a walk. The cool December breezed caressed her cheeks and her legs. She had brought a jacket which kept her upper body cool. They walked hand in hand like nothing had changed. It was just as how it was before and she welcomed it. Not once during the evening had she thought of that person. She didn't even want to mention his name or it would make it worse. They stroll and she forgot all about everything else. Malaya had always enjoyed being around Chris. They had this bond, a connection that they shared. She hoped that this time the two of them would be in each other's life forever.
After a while they began on the path back to the car. Chris made a deal with her that no matter what happens they will always be there for each other and will never leave again. To that she willingly agreed. She didn't want anything as bad as she wanted that at the moment. Malaya rested her head on his shoulder as they came closer to the car. The day was perfect almost too perfect to be true. Then her phone rang. Reaching into her purse she took the phone out and looked at the caller's ID. It was Malachi. And then her entire mood changed in a split second. She put the phone on silent let it ring and placed it in her purse. Her body was tense and everything was coming back full force. She needed to get home right now before she broke down.
