After that conversation, silence fell throughout their car ride. Only the soft music from the radio was heard when Kuroo opened it afterwards. Even though Tsukishima feels dizzy and his head was pounding, he felt like his soul was dragged out of his body when he heard what Kuroo said.
From a distance he could saw the condominium towers already. He shifted in his seat, but he kept his gaze outside the car window.
Tsukishima could not believe it. Kuroo and Alisa are not in a relationship? But they are the most popular pair of models right now. He closed his eyes as he constantly process the information and put them like puzzle pieces.
If Alisa is not Kuroo's girlfriend, why does she have a photo in Kuroo's Instagram feed? His lips protruded at the thought.
Then...maybe after all these years Kuroo hasn't moved on?
His eyes flew open as his heart almost exploded at that thought. That can't be, because he fully knows that Kuroo hates him so much. Tsukishima tilted his head to the side, and noticed that they are almost nearing the building. He cast a quick side glance at Kuroo who was focused on driving.
Kuroo hates him. Then why is he inside his car right now? He couldn't find any plausible reason. A switch flipped on his mind when he immediately thought of one. Maybe Kuroo just want to play mind games with him and torture him emotionally. Or maybe, Kuroo was just lying about his real relationship with who knows who. A small bitter smile crept up on his lips.
The guards must have noticed that the incoming vehicle is unfamilar, so they stepped in front of the condominium entrance as they neared it. Kuroo stopped the car exactly at the entrance, but the guards knocked on the window.
The windows rolled down, and the guards did not say anything when they noticed that it was Tsukishima. They only nodded and walked back to their positions before using their walkie-talkie's to probably inform their higher ups.
Tsukishima took this chance to tty and open the car door. But when Kuroo noticed what he was trying to do, he immediately pressed something so that it locked. He tiredly craned his head back to Kuroo who is now looking at him with a mysterious face.
"I'm going now..." Tsukishima trailed. He tried not to sound like he was slurring but it sounded a bit off.
Kuroo sighed and he gripped the steering wheel tight. A knowing look flashed in his eyed but he didn't quite caught that.
"Rest when you get to your unit."
It sounded more like a command. Tsukishima slowly nodded as he felt hypnotized by his heart's drumming beat.
"Yes. You can leave when I get inside, so that you can pick up your date for tonight," Tsukishima said after he averted his eyes and his hand gripped the side of the car door.
When he looked back at Kuroo, amusement was etched on his face. His eyes looked a bit playful but his lips kept pursed. The lock was undone, and now Tsukishima hurriedly opened it and went out of the car.
Once he stepped out of the vehicle, he did not wamt to look back. He was already near the glass door when he heard the car door open and closed so he stopped at his tracks.
He turned around and saw Kuroo leaning at the hood of his Aston Martin. His arms were folded and he was looking at him intensely. God, he looks so seductive.
"Not even a thank you?" Kuroo let out a dry laugh. "I never knew that you could be this heartless," he lifted his eyebrow at him.
Tsukishima shifted his weight on his other foot. He slowly licked his lower lip before he tried to open his mouth for a reply.
