LOGAN DIDN'T see Mike until school started again, on that Monday, January 6th. Mike thought it was enough time so he walked over to Logan who was standing at his locker. "Hi." He said and Logan looked over at him right away.

"Hi..." Logan smiled faintly and Mike sighs softly. "You okay?" He asked and Logan nodded slowly. "It all makes sense now." He says and Mike nodded right away with a bright smile at him. "You were just messing with the new kid, it's fine, Michael, I get it... But hey, whatever." He shrugs.

Mike's face scrunched up in confusion as Logan shut his locker. Before Mike can say anything, the boy turned and walked away from him. Mike crossed his arms as he sighed. He can't believe Logan thinks that he's not only lying about it but pulling a prank him because he's the new kid.

Mike probably had told Max because when Logan left school after the last bell telling them to go home, Logan went to the parking lot right away only to find Max at the back of the car again.

"Hey..." He says and she gestured. "Come with me to the arcade." She merely said and he said nothing to object, simply following her. It was a really cold day but he didn't care. The walk was kind of quiet, too quiet at first but then Max sighed.

He looked to her, kind of curiously with a raised eyebrows. She remained quiet however until they got to the arcade. No one was there. Except for one worker who was flipping through a comic. After school was always the best time to come here, that, Max Mayfield knew very well.

She walked up to Dig Dug, inserting a couple of coins and letting out another sigh. "You know... Lucas told me too." She said and Logan stayed quiet, staring at the tile floor. "I didn't believe him either, I thought it was just something for like experience points or some shit." She said.

Logan looked up at her, she kept her eyes on the game. "I didn't trust him either. I didn't want to believe him. I thought he and the guys were pulling a sick prank on me... but then I saw it myself... Right before my eyes. Especially after this summer..." She slowly stops, turning to him.

"When I saw my brother die because of those things from that place." She says and Logan glanced down. "I thought you said... it was, uh, a fire?" He looked up and she huffed, reaching up and wiping away at her eyes. "I said that to not tell you the truth, because we wanted to protect you from it, Mike included... I wanted to tell you, shorter than how long they kept it from me, so you wouldn't feel left out like I did... But he didn't want to. It was risky and he didn't want you to be targeted." She said and Logan sighed softly.

"You swear on your fucking life?"

"Yes, I swear on my fucking life, Logan. You're my new best friend and I trust you... I wanted you to know the truth since the beginning..." She said and he started sheepishly smiling at her. "I'm your best friend?" He asked and she nods, smiling slowly as well. "Of course." She tells him.

He sighed, walking over to her and wrapping both arms around her shoulders tightly as hers go around his waist, her head going onto his shoulder. "Mike's a good kisser by the way, you should totally get him before someone else completely new does." She whispered into his ear and he rolled his eyes and couldn't help but blush.

He pulled back from the hug and looked down at her, smiling faintly. "You lost on Dig Dug..." He informs her and she shrugs. "Don't wanna beat your high score, it'll break your heart." She says and he merely chuckled, rolling his eyes.

"I'm gonna go see if Steve and Robin are working..." He says and she nods. "I'll be here if you need me." She said and he nodded before leaving the arcade to walk down the path to the Family Video store. "Oh, there's the man! What's up, kid?" Steve said, jumping up from over the counter and Logan chuckles. "Hey... you and Robin free?" He asked and the nineteen year old sighed, leaning against the counter with crossed arms.

"Think she went out on a date."

"A date?" Logan raised both eyebrows. "With who?" He asked right away. "Oh, don't get jealous, Logan..." Steve teased and Logan rolls his eyes. He knows Robin's a lesbian. "Some girl... Lola or something." He shrugged and Logan's brows furrowed. Lolita? He ignored the thought, Lolita wasn't a lesbian, or even bisexual. She's kind of... a floozy. Mostly with boys anyway.

"You free then?"

"Yeah, I'm about to go on break actually." Steve nods and smiled at Logan. "What's bothering you?" He asked and Logan sighs. "Is the... Upside Down shit real?" He whispered to the older teen who quickly realized and slowly nodded.

"Hey, say what, uh, you go sit out in my car and we'll talk there... I'll be out in a bit." Steve said and held out his car keys. It seemed a bit suspicious to Logan but he still obliged, walking out to the car parked right in front of the shop. A Burgundy 1984 BMW 733i. Logan loved cars. That was the main thing about Logan Simmons really.

He always loved to learn about them and even learned how to fix them up, when his dad use to give a shit and wasn't an asshole really. He smiled and got into the passenger seat, inserting the keys and twisting them to turn the ignition on. He sat there and played songs on the radio, just waiting for Steve to come out of the store.

He can see Steve through the window that he was talking to Keith, a co-worker he had and it made Logan curious what about. Was it about his break? His shift? He just watched the two until finally Steve just sighed and nodded before walking away from him and exiting the store.
