Smoke

As I have previously mentioned, my grandparents on my mother's side have both passed. 

A key factor in this story is the knowledge that my grandfather used to smoke cigarettes. 

The first time that this specific sort of thing occurred was early spring of 2019. 

I had walked through the kitchen and near my parent's bedroom I smelled cigarette smoke. 

Now, also noting my mother smokes but smokes outside, I thought the smell of a cigarette she had laying around could be the source. 

I took a few steps towards the cigarette which was sitting in a glass dish and noticed the smell went away. 

Confused, I did not speak of it and I went on about my business. 

Within the next ten minutes, my brother spoke up, saying he smelled the peculiar smell as well. 

This is when I too admitted I smelled it and my brother and I stayed in the spot for several moments until eventually the smell went away. 

Fast forward to August of 2019, my aunt and uncle were in the trailer which was formerly my grandparents. 

My aunt pointed out the odd smell and my uncle added he too smelled it. 

Curious as to the cause, my aunt went and made sure nothing had caught on fire or was causing the smokey smell. 

As my aunt and uncle were looking out the window, a strange smoke swirl appeared as if someone had taken a puff off of a cigarette and let the smoke out of their mouth. 

Awed by the strange event, my aunt and uncle went about telling my mother and I about the strange happening. 

Needless to say, our suspicions are that this is a sign of sorts from my grandfather, that he is still with us and watching over us every day we are part of this earth. 

Honestly, I feel more comforted by it than anything else.
