I flipped over the picture and what was written on the back was crazy!
'Flame and colby, last picture of them together.'
"You have to be kidding me!" I looked at my mom dumbfounded. She nodded her head.
"No wonder you both got on really well together." she was smiling as my face flushed red.
"Don't tell anyone... PLEASE!" I didn't know what I was saying. All I knew was that Colby couldn't find out. *Knock knock* Colby was stood in the doorway to the garage.
"Hey sorry Sam told me to get you? Something you have planed? He didn't say." He looked at me confused as I hid the picture behind my back and slid it into my pocket.
"OH! Yeah right... Erm tell him to meet me up in the guest room. I'll be there in a minute. You can wait in the kitchen" I was blushing beat red and felt my plams become sweaty. He nodded his head and walked back to the others. I geared at my mom and ran up the stairs to the guest room.

Sam and Emily were sat on the bed inside stearing at the box on the floor. As I ran through the door way I locked it behind me. My breaths became deep and I felt a bead of sweat drip down my forehead.
"Yo... Flame? You okay?" Sam asked concerningly. I nodded my head and went to pick up the box.
"Last gift of the night. He better like it!" Emily said sarcastically. Both Sam and I started to giggle and he helped me with the box. Emily grabbed the smaller one next to it and we headed downstairs.
"COLBY CLOSE YOUR EYES!" I laughed shouting down the staircase. We carried the boxes down and placed them on the island in the kitchen. We moved colby to the other end and I kept my hands over his eyes.
"3...2...1 SUPRISE!" Everyone shouted as I removed my hands from Colby's eyes. In front of him was a bouncy castle box and an cake on top saying.
'Happy Birthday Colby We Love You!' he smiled at everyone then pulled me into a hug. I was caught off gaurd so I awkwardly hugged him back.
"Thank you for doing this for me. Thank you all!" He smiled as he went over and blew out the candles.

The night was almost over and everyone was getting ready to head home. My mother walked everyone out and I decided to walk Colby home. We were pushing and shoving eachother as we were walking. As I went to push him back he grabbed my arms and spun me around. I was laughing in his arms till I noticed the photo lying on the floor face down. I felt as if a tsunami had just hit me. He could not see that picture. I raced to grab it but he reached down and grabbed it. I froze and my face went as white as snow. He looked confused and as he was about to look at the picture I snatched it out his hands.
"You don't need to see that!" I hollard in a panic. He looked at me confused and reached to take the picture back. I fumbled backwards and tripped on the kerb. As I was falling he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. Grabbing my waist, he looked down and just laughed.
"Clumbsy much?" He smiled and let me go. I could feel a blush creeping onto my face. He pushed me back playfully once more as if nothing had happend. I didn't know what to do so I just played along. We carried on messing around until we got to his house. His Mom opened the door and gave Colby a hug.
"Have a good time hun?" She smiled and then looked at me. She looked at me with a puzzled expression. "Whos this? A new friend?" She said letting go of Colby.
"Right mom this is Flame" he smiled and pulled me forward. "She set everything up" I smiled and put my hand out which she shook.
"Flame? Hmmm *that name sounds familiar* where abouts do you live hun?" I felt a little taken back. She had mumbled something but I didn't question it.
"Right I live in the Young mannor up the street" I said smiling. Her face went pale, she knew. I violently shook my head and mouthed *He doesn't know*. She cought on and nodded. "Well it's nice to meet you Flame." I smiled and said goodnight to Colby. As I was walking back I felt awkward. Why didn't she say anything? Wouldn't she want him to know? All I knew is she could tell I was desperate for him not to know. I walked back inside as my dads car was pulling up. Oh great, he's back.

"Flame? What's going on?" I was terrified. He wasn't ment to be home till next week for two days!
"D... Dad what are you doing here?" I asked cowardly. He walked into the house.
"You had a PARTY? What did I say!" He hollard. My Mom waked up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Jacob it was only a small birthday party" she seamed nervous too.
"FLAME! I said NO party's!" I could feel my body trembling. He slammed the door shut. "ROOM NOW!" I could feel tears welling up in my eyes and my first instinct was to run, but I couldn't leave my mom.
"Daddy please calm down. It was for a friend down the street. The Brocks? It was Colbys birthday. You remember him right?" I pulled out the picture to hand him but my mother pulled my hand back. She was crying and shook her head.
"FAITH! You said she wouldn't meet this boy. let ALONE be friends with him!" I felt powerless. He came towards her and had raised his fist. I couldn't let him hurt her so I stepped in front and just as I did I got a blow to the face. Typical Friday night...

(So I know the ending is a little brutal. This is just a snippet of what is to come. Tell me what you think in the comments. What do you think will happen next? Love yas💕)
