While 8 year old Dudley was screaming at his mother about wanting a broom, Harry was happily skipping through the quiet of a the forest.

When he heard the pop of a new comer, he frowned and went toward it nervously. Unfortunatly, after Harry met Hallow and was let out to wonder alone more, he found out new comers were actually more common than he thought. It's just that the reason he doesn't always get to meet everyone is because of how often they show up fatally injured and end up dead.

He was walking about the trails of a mountain side not far from his own home when he heard the pop. Cautious and very aware he might see something horrible, Harry walked toward it.

He found them in the clearing, just outside of an unclaimed cave.
It was a giant... Creature. From his lessons, Harry was pretty sure this creature was a hipogrif.

Right. How would a wizard... Right.
Harry bowed deeply to the scared animal. It squawked dargerously at them, but when the sent of all Harry claims registured the hipogrif actually whimpered a little and bowed back as deeply as it could from its spot curled up on the floor.

Harry smiled and slowly walked toward the creature who seemed to be acting a lot more docile than Harry would have thought from the note. Of course, he didn't know that this was out of fear. The baskalis was bad enough, but the Baskalis, the Acromatulas AND the Dementor?! Hell No was the Hipogrif letting it's own pride get it killed by harming this child. The poison was bad enough.

Harry stroked its feathers in a soothing way to let it know he wasn't a threat. The hipogrif cooed at the gentle touch. Of course, she didn't really need the reasurance. The shear number of claims told her Harry was a pure soul. Still, his touch was very gentle. If she had no other choice, then he could be somthing she could rest in peace with.

"Human." Harry flinched at how horrid her voice sounded. "I've been poisoned. I have no chance. Please take this." She pushed the egg she'd been hiding under her wing and made a horrid gurgling sound. "Take it! Rai-raise, my child. Keep them- safe! Please.' She pleaded in a paniced voice as she barley clung to life.
Harry took the egg in his arms protectively and nodded, a single tear made its way down his cheek.

The hipogrif inhaled once more in relief as Harry laid a single hand on her to offer comfort. The breath sounded more like a rattle than an actual breath, then, she was gone.
Harry couldn't help it. He cried.
He sat on the ground with his legs crossed, the giant egg was in his lap and he held it close as he sobbed for the hipogrif he hadn't even gotten to meet.

All the animals who had claimed him came running worriedly when they felt his sorrow. All except for Hallow who recognized that is was just sorrow and didn't think his presence would lighten the mood much.

Harry was surpised to see Anguis, Hellfire, Groslin, Ronda, and Harper. As well as Popy, an Element Fairy, Roper, Isrial, Midnight, and Katie. He sniffed and whiped his nose on his sleeve. Even though he was surpised to see them, he couldn't really feel happy about it at the moment. Or anything about it really. He just felt sad for the hipogrif who asked him to raise her child.

Anguis came forward. "Harry. What happened. Is that an egg?" He asked, worried. Harry nodded and sniffed.

"She said- she said she was, poisoned." He said, quickly realizing talking was a bad idea as small sobbs escaped his throat. "She asked me to- to raise her kid and keep- keep them safe!" He trailed off as sobs wretched through his whole body and he clung to the egg like it was a life line.
