A Different Flower

A few months after his arrival, Harry was happily skipping around in the forest. He'd become well known in the woods as the first human. Some of his closest friends were Hellfire the Shadow Phoenix, the Webbings an Acromatula family on the other side of the island from the snake caves, Melody a light Phenoix with the most beautful song, and of course Anguis Mortiferum and the rest of the snakes of the island. The snakes loved Harry and it wasn't a rare sight to see Harry positively buried in coiled up snakes while they all slept.

As Harry skipped about now, he came across a crying creature he had not seen before.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked even though he hadn't been able to understand any on the animals yet. The creature looked up in fear.
"Lilly was told there were no humans her! This is supposed to be safe!" She sobbed harder and Harry was shocked. He sat down.
"I can understand you!" He cheered. "I can't wait to tell Anguis! " he giggled, but then he looked at the sobbing creature. He moved toward her with slealth he was learning from Yawlder the Pawlden. Pawldens are most like tigers with some magical differences.

He wrapped his arms around her in a soothing embrace and hugged her closely until she was calm. She tensed and paused for a moment before crying some more. "What is this? Lilly is so confused. Aren't you going to make me call you master and-"
"Why would I do that?" Harry cut her off in his curiosity.
Lilly looked up at him. "Because you're a wizard. That's what wizards do to House Elves like me."

Harry shook his head and heald her close. "No. Call me Harry. That's my name!" He smiled at himself. "Harry Maruder Messairs."
The house elf smiled a little at the boy's pride in knowing his own name. "How old are you Harry?" She asked.
"I'm four years old. I turn 5 soon! Daddy always said it was at the end of July, but Mommy says it's at the end of June. They used to argue about it a lot." He over explained.

The house elf tenced again. "And, where- where are your parents?" She asked. Harry shrugged.
"I don't know. Daddy got hit by some weird green light and mommy got hit by a red one until she fell asleep. It looked like it hurt a lot, but I didn't know what to do. Then a dark man who hurt mommy with the light threw a green light at me like he did daddy. It missed at first, but then he got me. I don't really remember much but, then I grabbed his weird light stick and I ended up here. I wanted to get away because Dudley started crying again. He's always crying." The four year old rolled his eyes.

Lilly couldn't believe what she was hearing. The boy's parents were dead...
Wait...

She's heard this story before. Sort of. Her master, Mr.Crabbe, was furious when he came home. She listened to him tell hs wife all about it. But it was different.

The man had died and the woman was torutured uncontious. One boy had died that night leaving the other to be named Dudley, the boy who lived.
Did the other boy not die? Is it possible that...
Lilly decided she would have to look into this. One of the many reasons she was punished in her home is because she wasn't an adverage house elf.
She was smart, curious, and ambitious. Not extacly ideal qualities in a slave.

"Are there any other humans on this island?" She asked. Harry shook his head.
"No, but there are other creatures. Do you want to meet my friends?!" He asked excitedly. Lilly nodded and followed the boy.

They showed up infront of a weirdly shaped tree. It kinda looked like-
Lilly's heart stopped when she relaized that it wasn't a tree, but a giant snake. The snake shrank itself and hissed and Harry who, to her utter horror, hissed back.
Harry smiled at her. "This is Anguis, my first friend. He's a Baskalis. He pretty much rules this island with Flamburr. He's a light Phoenix. Since I am the only one you can understand, I get to take care of you like the snakes take care of me! It'll be so much fun!"

Lilly nodded nervously.
