Jaylen came home from cheer practice one April afternoon. She showered and changed then went into Jaycee's room. "Hey scoot.." Jaylen said
Jaycee scooted over and closed her book. "So I was thinking since I am going to be a senior this year. That me and you my beautiful baby sister are going to take a trip this summer." Jaylen said in a dramatic tone.
Jaycee rolled her eyes "Where do you want to go?" She said
"I have already talked to dad about that. We are going to Florida and staying in the family beach house. I cant believe we still own it we havent been in years." Jaylen said
"Yeah..so..that sounds like fun Jay.." she said
"Great..now give me this I have to order some things for the trip." Jaylen said as she took her sister's laptop.
Jaylen pulled up their amazon account. She ordered them bedding and suitcases cause Ben said he didnt think it had bed linens and if it did it needed new ones. Jaycee helped her pick out the other stuff they needed like towels and pillows.
After that Jaycee made out a list of things that they could get from their local Walmart. They lived in Shackle Island TN it was a small town where everybody knew everybody.
"Okay..so we have that list made. Another list of things we have to do. Like get our hair done and nails. Um get you in the tanning bed cause you are pale.." Jaylen said
"Um thanks.." Jaycee said
"Welcome.." Jaylen said
"I was being sarcastic Jay." Jaycee said
Jaylen rolled her eyes. "Come on lets go get some dinner. Im craving some stif fry..its my night to make dinner and I forgot to get stuff so you can help." Jaylen said
Meanwhile in town Bucky was sitting at his dad's auto shop spinning. It was dead but he had his friends with him. "So I was thinking boys..why dont we talk our parents into letting us go to Florida this summer. Just us and your girls?" Bucky said
"Oh man that sounds like a damn good time." Sam said
"Yeah..lets do it." Clint said
After they closed up shop they had the girls and their parents met at Bucky's house. After two long hours and a bunch of pizza their parents finally gave in but not without some rules.
They helped them pick out a beach house for their trip. Winnie and Sarah made a list of things they knew the kids would need for the house.
The next morning at school Jaycee was leaving the library after her debate team meeting. Bucky was running down the hall cause he thought he was late and ran right into Jaycee.
"Hey watch where you are going nerd." Bucky said as Jaycee picked up her books.
She just shook her head and wiped tears. No matter how many years have passed it still hurts how much he has changed. She walked back into the library and hid till the bell rang.
During lunch she talked with her sister about their trip. "Hey Jaylen what are you doing talking to Cherry Pie Baker..you are one of us." Bucky said
Jaycee looked down as she wiped tears. Jaylen whispered "Ignore him..he is nothing but an ass now."
Jaycee walked out leaving her sister in the lunchroom.
