It was the week before her scheduled c section. She was at home alone since both Bucky and Brady had a basketball game. Winnie kept checking on her throughout the game.
While she stepped out to call her to check on her before the 2nd half started. She was still talking to her to see what she wanted to eat when they got done. The game had already started back up.
Bucky went up to do a lay up when he came back down he landed but turned wrong. He didnt feel the pain at first till he went to run and hit the floor.
Brady ran over to him as James ran down the bleachers. "Ow ow fuck god damn it hurts" he yelled as he held his knee.
Winnie came back in to figure out why it was quiet. She saw her youngest on the floor squirming in pain. She walked over to where her husband was.
"James?" She said
"He went up for a lay up when they started going to the other end he fell to the floor. He must of twisted it and didnt feel it till he went to run." He said.
Winnie sent Brady home with Jaycee's food order. "Brady? Why is it so quiet where is everyone else?" She said as she started to eat her wings.
"Little James hurt his knee tonight at the game. They are at the ER with him mom sent me home so you wouldnt be starving and that way you wouldnt be here alone tonight." Brady said
"Oh.." she said
At the ER Bucky had to have MRI and X rays done. The doctor finally came in after three hours of waiting. "Okay Mr Barnes..it looks like you have torn your ACL. So we are going to have to schedule you in for surgery for next week." He said
Bucky shook his head. They put a knee brace on him and gave him crutches. James had Winnie drop him off to drive Bucky's truck home. They got him inside "maybe you should of taken me through the basement door." He said
Winnie started to pull the cushions off the couch in the tv room. She pulled out the sleeper sofa bed. "Mom..you can just.." he said
"And how do you plan on getting to the kitchen James..you can sleep in here." Winnie said
Brady brought him some clothes and his bed stuff and his charger. Bucky sighed. He heard someone behind him he turned to see Jaycee.
"Everything okay?" She said
"No Jaycee everything is not okay..I tore my ACL I have to have surgery. So now my birthday and spring break are ruined. But thanks for asking." Bucky said
She looked down and walked away. "James Buchanan that was uncalled for." James said
"Well Im sorry." He said as he walked to his bed. Brady and James helped him lay down. The next morning the surgery center called and let them know when his surgery was.
Winnie quickly realized it was the same day of Jaycee's. James said "I will stay with him and you can stay with her."

Surgery Day
8AM
Both Bucky and Jaycee were sitting in the back seat of Winnie's car. They were both starving and not happy campers. They arrived at the surgery center she got them checked in and they got their bracelets.
At around 930 a nurse came out and said "Jacinda Briar Baker.."
Winnie helped her up and followed her back. They got her in a post opt room where she was changed into a gown and they started up her IV. Jaycee told Dr Taylor that she wanted to be put to sleep. He reccomended it since she had blood pressure problems.
Around 10 AM another nurse came out "James Buchanan Barnes."
James helped Bucky up and they made their way back. Just as Bucky was getting into his post opt room they took Jaycee back.
They put Jaycee to sleep once they made sure that she was out. Dr Taylor came in and started the c section. Bucky was being put to sleep as her surgery started.
James and Winnie were sitting in the waiting area. Within 15 minutes of each other they were being brought out. When she came to her nurse came in with a blue hat on his head.
"Here's mama.." she whispered.
Jaycee looked down and gave a small smile. "Hey little guy..mama is here." She whispered.
"7lbs even mama 21 inches long. And lets try and feed him." The nurse said
She got him to latch. She looked down when she saw Bucky's facial features. Winnie came in "hey you..how are you feeling?"
"Good..he is adorable." She said
They got her moved up to the L&D floor. Bucky was moved to his room. After they both stayed for a week they were discharged.
